We had some older kids over visiting and between the four kids my boy included they burned up one of the motors. At first I was a bit concerned as the John Deere Gator was reviewed as durable and it is a fairly expensive toy
bought as a unit.I am an automotive technician and decided if I can repair automobiles with today's technology I should be able to repair a John Deere Gator toy.It took about 30 minutes to tear it down and scope out the setup and start the repair that took another 10,reassembled and checked repair.Worked good as new.So if this happens to you and you have good mechanical skills the repair is no big deal. The price of the motor was surprisingly cheap so I was happy on both counts.Very pleased

It's a "compatible" motor for the Kids Motorz red Jeep (12V Rolling Rambler 4x4) ride-on. Since the motor shaft does not extend as far as the original, some modification was needed to get it mounted. I chose to de-soldier and reuse the old power connectors, but i had to carve out the original stand-offs around the mounting point on the transmission. Finally, I cut down the old screws to fit...otherwise they would bind the motor if screwed in to far.

Found a John Deer Gator at the curb with a "free" sign on it. Turns out it had a burn-out motor, and this was a easy replacement. Now it is working perfectly and I have a very happy 4 year old.

thought the battery was bad on our gator, did some checking and determined it was a bad motor instead! Thank goodness as the batteries are much more expensive than these little motors. I replaced it and now we finally have a working gator.

We have the old style John Deere Gator (MP270, HP270, and OD0004) with the blue pentagon style drive gear. The gear assembly was fine but the motor shaft had snapped on both sides. I tried to find a replacement motor but I could only find the whole assembly motor and gear (SAGI9961XXG) for this model. Technically, this motor is for the newer gear assembly but I decided to give it a try and the motor fit perfectly. So far the boys have only driven it a few times. The motor has a metal gear instead of the nylon one on the old one. I don't think it will, but if the motor eats up the gear assembly teeth, I will consider buying the newer model wheels and gear assembly anyway.

One of the neighborhood toddlers got his chubby little hands on the wires under the seat of my kids' electric car and pulled, hard. The tab on the motor broke off rendering it useless. Perhaps a more skilled person could have repaired it but for under $20 and a bit of my time, I was able to put this new motor in and got the Peg Perego Gaucho running like it should.

FYI it's not terribly difficult, I have NO mechanical training, just the internet and a little bit of aptitude.

wasn't sure this part would work on our older Thomas the Train riding toy. Part looked the same but had different part #...this one was just a little bit bigger but worked perfectly!! since Pergo no longer makes replacement parts for this train; I & grandson was delighted to have Thomas back on "track" again!!! thanks so much

After most of the summer with my boys' gator our of commission due to a bad motor, I finally bought a replacement. It is a bit longer but went in without a hitch and works great. It stays cool, unlike the other one - which seems to indicate a greater draw in current due to a short in the windings. It used to be the battery would go dead in what seemed to be a short time...now they've been able (3 boys - removed back bed and mounted a booster seat) to ride to the park and back (12 blocks total) with still plenty of juice left to ride around the house a bit. Yes, having good working motors does help your battery last longer.
