Buyer Beware, January 29, 2009
This review is from: Peg-Perego Pliko Switch Stroller, Moka (Baby Product)
I got the pliko switch after seeing the video on the Peg Perego site. It's been great for my newborn, but now that I'm actually using other features, I'm noticing a whole lot of issues. First the baby safe net wasn't included, had to call Peg Perego to send. The boot doesn't fit over the bar like the video/pictures and instructions state. The cup holder came broken and they're charging me $8 to replace. I'm now also told that I need to buy the bumper bar so I can put the boot on correctly. Still no response as to how they're going to fix the seat so it can go in the upright position.
Pros: Easy steering, collapses smoothly
Cons: Being nickel and dimed by peg perego to fix my broken stroller
5/13/2009: Since writing this review, I have used the stroller frequently. Additional Details:
Pros: Received a lot of compliments on the look/style. Also praises that our baby is facing us instead of out (which seemed to ease anxiety). Durable. The airline threw our stroller around (our bag is done for) and the stroller is working just great. The boot is helpful (we were in humid tropical weather) but as soon as we were inside a restaurant/shopping center, A/C would be cranking and our baby would be cold. So we'd lift the boot up and cover him. No need to fuss with blankets or dress him. Not fun waking a sleeping baby. It was also VERY helpful to put the stroller in flat position so he could lay sleeping in it. It seemed like he enjoyed it and was very comfortable.
Cons: HEAVY!! 19lb stroller doesn't seem like much, but adding on a 16lb baby, that's tough. (We traveled out of the country and not many places were stroller friendly or had access, bringing the stroller up and down stairs, in and out of taxis was not fun). It's definitely a large luxury stroller. Brakes get a bit stiff and can get caught (where if you hit the right side to lock it, the left side might not click down - or vice versa). We CANNOT find a cup holder attachment that fits around the handle (like jogging strollers). The Peg Perego cup holder is too narrow/small (great for a small bottle) but not much more. We needed a bigger cup holder to hold our drinks/baby's regular bottles. No go. Found a velcro strapped "stroller organizer" which sorta works, but takes away from the overall look of the stroller.
