You'll need to practice using the stylus to fine-tune your aim while calculating the perfect moment for each release, and you'll get a rush out of sending balls flying at strategically located bricks, pegs, and obstacles to score points and conquer a broad array of challenges. The advanced physics of previous Peggle games is now at work in this DS edition, which means the trajectory of each bouncing ball is calculated in real time, and the results of a shot may change if your aim is off by even one pixel. The precision of your angles also means that there's quite a bit of math-practice hidden in what seems like a purely entertaining game. Watching what happens after you let the ball go is a big part of the fun, since even the most skilled players are sure to get a few tantalizing, unlikely bounces each round.

One place fans of the PC-based Peggles won't have a leg up is facing the parts of this game that are set in the Bonus Underground -- an exclusive, DS-specific addition to the Peggle universe. I was so happy to hear they were putting Peggle on the DS. Considering the small size, I think the graphics are good, it's hard to compare with a full sized PC screen. The game is still fun. The only complaints I have is the "close up" feature can be annoying when you are trying to just move the pointer slightly. Also, there is a glitch in some levels where the pointer moves to the top of the screen and you can't move it (or it is a flaw in my own game card, I don't know). You have to wait for it move itself out, kind of like unlocking or something. In a timed game, this would be extremely frustrating. All in all, a fun game if you like Peggle in the full version.

I took a chance on this title after reading reviews and have to say that this is a great game. It's an affordable price that packs a lot of fun! My husband starting playing as well and now we are both hooked on Peggle. Levels are fun to re-play because you can choose the character you want to play and each has a special power plus the music that plays when you clear a level is pretty funny. I don't think you will regret this purchase.

We play a ton of Peggle/Peggle Nights here on the PCs, and even have it on our phones. (Believe it or not, the phone version is pretty good, though it's tiny.)

Peggle DS, though... I don't play it. I tried, and the physics are really off, annoyingly so, in comparison to the other versions. It didn't hold my interest for any length of time because of that. I can't give it less than 3 stars because Peggle's a great game, and if you haven't played it on other platforms you might like the DS version, but I'll be adding mine to the pile of games I'll trade off.
