4.0 out of 5 stars Two games in one
I was so happy to hear they were putting Peggle on the DS. Considering the small size, I think the graphics are good, it's hard to compare with a full sized PC screen. The game is still fun. The only complaints I have is the "close up" feature can be annoying when you are trying to just move the pointer slightly. Also, there is a glitch in some levels where the pointer...

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't, if you're a Peggle PC fan
We play a ton of Peggle/Peggle Nights here on the PCs, and even have it on our phones. (Believe it or not, the phone version is pretty good, though it's tiny.)

Peggle DS, though... I don't play it. I tried, and the physics are really off, annoyingly so, in comparison to the other versions. It didn't hold my interest for any length of time because of that. I...

I was so happy to hear they were putting Peggle on the DS. Considering the small size, I think the graphics are good, it's hard to compare with a full sized PC screen. The game is still fun. The only complaints I have is the "close up" feature can be annoying when you are trying to just move the pointer slightly. Also, there is a glitch in some levels where the pointer moves to the top of the screen and you can't move it (or it is a flaw in my own game card, I don't know). You have to wait for it move itself out, kind of like unlocking or something. In a timed game, this would be extremely frustrating. All in all, a fun game if you like Peggle in the full version.

I took a chance on this title after reading reviews and have to say that this is a great game. It's an affordable price that packs a lot of fun! My husband starting playing as well and now we are both hooked on Peggle. Levels are fun to re-play because you can choose the character you want to play and each has a special power plus the music that plays when you clear a level is pretty funny. I don't think you will regret this purchase.

I can't give it less than 3 stars because Peggle's a great game, and if you haven't played it on other platforms you might like the DS version, but I'll be adding mine to the pile of games I'll trade off.

Chances are pretty good you've played some version of Peggle before. It's on cell phones, handhelds, consoles, computers, you can even play a version while you're already playing World of Warcraft. The DS version's difference is the use of the touch screen for aiming, which sounds great in theory, but isn't as precise as is necessary for some of the trickier boards. Fortunately it isn't forced upon you, and you can use the D-pad for precision aiming. There's a lot of content here; between the full versions of Peggle and Peggle Nights there are over 100 boards to clear, not to mention different challenge modes for every board. If you've never tried Peggle, there are demos available at popcap.com and elsewhere. If you decide you like it, this is a solid, worthwhile version and a great value for the money.

Peggle on the go. My favorite Pop Cap game is now portable. All the addictive fun is still here. This game will make you late for meetings (I have time for one more level).

I had played Peggle on my Mac and also on my iPod and absolutely loved it, so when Christmas time rolled around, I decided to get it for my Dad. He has a DS, but he's never been a huge gamer, so I wasn't sure if he'd like it or not. Turns out, he LOVED it.

Pros:
*You get both Peggle, and Peggle Nights in one game, which is a great value.
*The price of the item is significantly lower than most other DS games.

Cons:
*I think the controls on the iPod are better, but that's just me.

Summary:
*Turns out it's not just addictive for gamers, it's addictive for EVERYONE!

This is a very addictive game. I have played several computer versions, and this Nintendo DS game is a version of games that have been available for Mac and PC for some time. It's a little trickier to line up your shots with the small screen of the DS, but the publisher of this version did a GREAT job of providing a "zoom" shot if you hold your stylus on the lower screen for an extended period. Presto - no more problems planning those tricky shots! Beating some of the "Challenge" levels is TOUGH - but helps decrease your cost/games played ratio if that makes you feel any better. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Gaming at its best: simple but addictive, March 20, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Peggle Dual Shot (Video Game)
Peggle Dual Shot for the DS is two games on one card: Peggle and Peggle Nights. The premise is simple: aim a ball at a screen full of pegs, shoot it and watch it bounce, destroying as many pegs as you can in the process. Hitting certain pegs will give you superpowers like multiball or a fireball that burns through everything in its path. The basics of each game are similar, but the game layouts - the real heart of the Peggle games - are quite different and very diverse. You'll definitely be retrying some levels more than once before you complete them all.

Fans of the PC versions won't be disappointed. The games translate quite well to the DS, and it's great to have portable versions of them. The DS also features "bonus underground" screens that aren't in the PC versions, where you bounce the ball off pinball-style bumpers to collect gems for bonus points. It's a cute addition, and the possibility of earning an extra ball in the bonus screen adds a little more strategy to the game.

Peggle Dual Shot is fun and addictive, with well over 100 levels to conquer. I've seen some complaints about the graphics, but I thought they were colorful and well-rendered (especially for a portable game) and the background artwork was quite good. My only complaint is that you need a very steady hand to play it, or else that perfect shot you lined up could go astray when you tap on the screen to shoot the ball. Still, it's a lot of fun and I'm glad to have a version of Peggle that I can play on the road.

This game is great! If you've played other versions of Peggle, the DS version has some added content worth checking out! If you haven't played Peggle yet, head over to popcap's website and try it for free. Great game for kids and adults! My parents like it, I like it, and my kids (nieces and nephews too) like it as well!

I have purchased many games for my DS, but this is the best one yet. I have been playing it now for weeks and find it hard to put it down. Even my husband, who doesn't usually play games is enjoying it. You'll absolutely love it. It's well worth the price.
