3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, but Not Addictive
I enjoyed this game very much. I found it slightly reptitive as I had to do certain levels over and over to pass. I will however, be going back more often to Bejeweled Twist than this one.

This is a great game for the whole family. My 6 year old son really likes Zuma and wanted more like it, so we downloaded free trials for all Vista-compatible games from the Pop Cap website, and Peggle was good enough to buy. It's addictive, so be careful. Kids like it because it's relatively easy to succeed, and the game gives lots of positive feedback, along with a fireworks celebration and "Ode to Joy" when you complete a challenge. It's also challenging enough to keep the grown-ups from getting bored.

Addition to original review: I would now like to add that this game is also addictive for my 76 year old father! One thing that makes this game nice is that isn't timed, so it's fun even if you don't have quick reflexes. But it is still challenging because you can still strategize on "aiming" your balls. We like this game so much that we have also purchased Peggle Nights, which is more of the same. Great job, Pop Cap Games!

5.0 out of 5 stars Addictive!!, February 19, 2009

This review is from: Peggle (CD-ROM)
I started playing this game on line and liked it. Ordered it from Amazon--I play it every night. It is very addictive. Sometimes aggravating when you play against the computer. I think he (the computer) knows all the tricks!! Anyway it is fun and you lose track of time. So don't think you are only going to play for a few minutes. I also like that you can retry the challenge instead of having to go all the way back to the beginning of the game.

I ordered Peggle only because it would make my total order large enough to get free shipping. This is one time when greed surely paid off! My husband and I are both so addicted to playing it that the games I knew I wanted just sit in the computer and wait. On the other hand, my greed may turn out to be expensive - we may have to buy another computer rather than share.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Game for Everyone..., December 11, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

This review is from: Peggle (CD-ROM)
My parents are addicted to Bejeweled, so I recently purchased Bejeweled 3 for them. In my quest to secure a copy of Bejeweled 3, this game.. Peggle kept showing up over and over. Curiosity got the best of me, and just looking at some gameplay footage I was sold!

Peggle reminds me a bit like the famous game "Plinko" from 'The Price is Right' but instead of simple pegs you now have pinball bumpers and use a pinball. The game is a simple concept that provides countless hours of fun and will test your skills early. Basically all you do is aim your ball and fire! The ball will bounce on the pegs getting points, bouncing all over. Accumulate 25,000 pts in a single shot to earn a free ball. The goal of every stage is to eliminate all the "orange" pegs on the map. Removing your last orange peg will trigger a frenzy mode which lets you rack up tons of bonus points.

Peggle contains 10 stages plus a "master" stage(ADVENTURE mode). Stages 1 thru 10 introduce you to the 10 "peggle" masters, each with their own unique magic ability, while stage 11 lets you pick your ability. If you complete all 11 stages you will unlock the CHALLENGE mode. In Challenge mode you have 75 levels each having a requirement placed upon it. Some are easy, some are hard. Most of them involve revisiting old levels from the "ADVENTURE" mode, but now with odd requirements (like score 300,000+ pts on stage 5-1, or starting with just a single ball beat Stage 2-4).

There is no online element with the game, but if you select DUEL mode you can play against the computer or a second person (Local Versus mode basically). High Score charts are included with each level, with every level requiring you surpass 300,000 pts for a top score.

OVERALL this is a very enjoyable game for all ages. The stages start easy and get harder and harder as you go, with each requiring a bit of luck + skill. This is just a very simple game that will keep you entertained for countless hours. The adventure mode can last you quite a few days, but then toss in 75 challenge maps and you'll be busy for weeks. Another excellent game by Pop Cap.

NOTE: If you enjoy Peggle, check out Peggle Nights... a nice addition to this title
NOTE: There is a free trial of Peggle available at the official Pop Cap website for those who want to give the game a trial run before purchase
** I have included a link to the official Peggle page in the comment section

I purchased this game after playing Peggle Nights on AOL, and I am not disapointed. It was easy to install, and my granddaughter and I have had lots of fun playing since. Would recommend.

I took another reviewer's advice and tried it out online. In my hour I was given, i got to level 15, 14 on first try. So I got the game, and while it seems a bit harder this time, I am still racking up the levels.

Bought Peggles for my grandson and I have also become a fan of this challenging game. No violence---just fun. It is sometimes frustrating for me but he always is willing to assist so I can reach the "next level" Great game!!!!
