5.0 out of 5 stars Since You Can't See Them Live...
...you ought to own this album. Where most bands slump in their sophomore album, Peghead demonstrates maturity, development, and incredible talent. This and Friendly Dog Salad (their debut) are two albums I have never grown tired of, even after listening for nearly 6 years.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ska Was Ska before Black Happy
Ska was Ska before Black Happy and Black Happy is not Ska.The previous reviewer needs to get out of Montana. I sat at a Fishbone show in Pullman with Paul the singer and let me tell you Fishbone is Ska. Black Happy was one of the best bands to come out of the Spokane area and at that time there were alot of
great bands. The live shows got you up and dancing and when...

I've been to nearly all their shows, including their last. I miss them greatly, and ShovelJerk just isn't the same. This album is a NorthWest MUST HAVE!

If you were alive in the early 1990's you were lucy enough to witness and be a part of one of the historic times in music history, when "Grunge" music hit the scene. Seattle, well.. the Pacific Northwest in general, was the place to be..So many great bands were emerging and rockin.

Black Happy was one of those bands. From Northersn Idaho, they played A LOT of shows in the Seattle area. Their shows were always over the top. Their Energy and SOUND was amazing.Their horn section is one to be reckoned with. Some folks would say they were a metal band, others might say grunge, but I really don't think they fit into either category. They have a sound all their own.. Just a great rock band.

Peghead is by far my favorite album of theirs. From start to finish it does nothing but rock. High energy, crunchy guitar, blaring horns and Pauls vocals just make you want to go crazy. Three Day Weekend can really whip up a frenzy!! Holly Would brings the tempo down a little, but is still rocking.

I suggest this as a MUST BUY!!...

Far and away my favorite show back in the 90's. Love the brass! Lost my CDs a few years back and was ecstatic to find them for download here. Of the three albums Peghead is my favorite.

Have seen Black Happy many times, and would definitely see them again! Have had their music since it debuted. Had to go get another CD because the first one was worn out. I would highly recommend anyone purchase this CD, it is well worth every dollar. The music is energetic, jazzy, and just overall great! Friendly Dog Salad, it just as good, if not a bit better!
Just wish Black Happy would get back together for a reunion...we miss you guys!

I'm from Idaho and have heard these guys countless times in my youth. They put on a helluva show and I think I only had to pay for a couple of them. I am listening to Peghead right know. I have a hand signed original copy. I thought I'd just google these guys for giggles. I couldn't be more happy with the reviews. I feel fortunate to have grown up in Post Falls and to have known these guys. Just had to say how great it is these guys have been accepted by so many others even without being seen live. What a show. I'm pogo-ing right now. I pull this out of archives from time to time...always a treat.

This is my favorite all-time album. Years later, it still has a place in my personal "heavy rotation". It makes me rather sad that Black Happy are no longer around.

Black Happy is one of my all time favorites. I've had the album since the first time I saw them live in 94....now that was a show. Given the chance I would definatley go again and again.....well worth the money. Gotta love that jazziness.
