Pekins, or Long Island breed ducks, are the most popular commercially raised duck on the market. Product of Mapleleaf farms, Indiana, the largest producer of Pekin ducks in the nation. Pekin ducks are fed a diet of grain without antibiotics or growth hormones. They have a mild taste and a very tender meat. Each bird yields two perfect portions. Whole birds are perfect for roasting. I purchased this product to try a new roast duck recipe. When the package was delivered there was only one bird in the package rather than the two that were ordered. I called the producer who corrected the mistake immediately by overnight shipping. I prepared the ducks and the meal was outstanding. The ducks were moist, and the meat very tasty. I highly recommend this product.
