I use the Pelican case to carry tools in my toolbox at work. I was surprised by how solid and well made it is. Even though its plastic it is thick and quite impact resistant. The inside liner is a softer, rubbery material that cushions the contents. The closure on the lid is very tight and will not easily open inadvertantly. If you want to transport and protect anything delicate or keep it dry, this is the way to go.
