That's probably asking too much though.

This pluck foam is a great alternative to foam pieces that you have to cut manually.

After researching, I ordered this convinced that I could do better.

I didn't like this product any better than regular foam. The pick and pluck squares go all the way through to the other side and I was hoping they would be 1/2" squares instead of long rectangles. That's probably asking too much though.

The name says it all, Pelican. Anyone who has been in the military has probably came across one type or more of a Pelican case. I learned to trust them with my sensitive electronic gear while in the sand, sea, and sun. Currently I;m using my Pelican 1060 with the Pick N' Pluck foam insert to protect my ContourHD Helment Camera ContourHD 1080p Full HD Helmet Camera when it's not mounted on my fire helmet.

Bottom line, if you want a case that will take the abuse of military, emergency services, and back-woods hunting, then you have to go with a Pelican.

If you are looking to turn your 1060 into a watch case, this is just what you need. Cut rectangular blocks 4-cubes across by 7-cubes down with 3 cubes between. Start as far left as you can, and you should have one row of foam leftover on the right side. The cutouts will serve as the watch cushions once they are out.

If you prefer to store 4 watches in the case, you can also do 4x7 cubes with 1 cube between. In this case, rather than centering the watches in a single horizontal row, I would recommend staggering one higher and one lower, to maximize the clearance between cases.

Hope that helps anyone looking to kludge together a cool travel watch case. Just remember that your 1060 must also be the solid-color version, and not the transparent-lid-style so that you get the piece of foam to protect your watch crystals from the Pelican lid.

This is a 4-star for two reasons:
1. The price is silly - I bought the case with the foam in it for less
2. the foam doesn't include a piece for the top of the case - you can see your stuff and then turn it upside-down and see your stuff fall out and get disorganized.
that said, this foam is always good at what it does and it's not as if you can get it from someone else, so bite the bullet and get it...

Really great stuff, I don't know why people have given this stuff bad reviews. Fits my 1060 Pelican case perfectly and looks great. You dont have to pull out the pieces all the way through to the other side, you can pull half the piece out. The trick is to go slow and do it perfectly and take your time as it'll last forever. I use this with the 1060 case to hold my e-pen along with all of my e-pen attachments. It fits my iTaste SVD, 2 18650 batteries and about 5 attachments along with 2-3 attachment wick replacements plus it all looks really good in the clear case.

It is nice to have the option to put this in the case and pinch out chunks of foam to fit the object but somehow the several times I have tried this I have been unhappy with the crudeness of the result. One time I tried a torch-heated iron to melt out a more form fitting cavity but this also left a less-than-satisfactory appearance and fit. Wish there was a better solution.

The pick n' pluck does the job it is made for, just be careful when you are plucking the foam when you pluck around the edges. The foam is sensitive in those areas and you could wind up pulling out more foam than you intended!

The saying, measure twice, cut once definitely applies here.

I purchased this to go with the Pelican 1060 Case. It was easy to customize and fit. Take your time! If you try to hurry, you will goof it up and possibly pluck or cut too much. I used this to protect my Adixxion Camera and accessories. Very pleased with the result!
