5.0 out of 5 stars Heavy duty protection for your ipod
I absolutely love Pelican cases. I own nearly a dozen and actually had been using one of their smaller cases for my iPod, but had craved a case specifically catered to an iPod. 3.0 out of 5 stars Yes, it it nice but deceptive
Well, yes, it is a fairly nice case and appears to be okay quality but it is NOT waterproof. I tested it in the sink and within about one minute of submersion, I could detect the beginnings of leaks. Secondly, the pic shows an iPod touch in the case and doesn't specify clearly which iPods do and don't work. This is misleading since you can't really close the case with...

I absolutely love Pelican cases. I own nearly a dozen and actually had been using one of their smaller cases for my iPod, but had craved a case specifically catered to an iPod. Imagine my joy when I discovered this case. This case will protect your iPod from nearly andy conceivable type of harm. It is crush resistant, waterproof, buoyant, and will definately protect your iPod from any and every scratch. An absolutely fabulous feature of this case is the external headphone jack. This watertight, rotating jack allows the user to listen to the iPod while it is still sealed within. The case is heavy and fairly large, but then again it is catered towards people who want to use their iPods while out in the wilderness, but dont want to risk harming them. I highly recommend it to outdoor ethusiasts or anyone who desires serious iPod protection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Combat tested, October 12, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I got this for my son after some of electronic toys were ruined in Iraq. The sand, rain and abuse in a duffel bag ruined his camera and Ipod. He had this with him when he went to Afghanistan. The conditions there were even worse, these little boxes are very sturdy and with the additional foam you can make it to fit your needs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect fit for Panasonic DMC-ZS3, September 6, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am extremely satisfied with a tip I recently saw under another customer's product picture: The Pelican 1010-026-100 Micro Case fits the Panasonic DMC-ZS3 camera just perfectly!

Because of another review, I was a bit worried about the clear lid, which doesn't have extra protection inside, but the camera is very snug and secure in the case, it doesn't wiggle at all.

Now I am looking forward to my next air travel, when the camera is clearly visible for security personnel at the checkpoint, because overseas I often had to remove my cameras from their bags. This case should speed up the check-through significantly!

5.0 out of 5 stars Protect your iPod with the best, June 14, 2007

iPods are expensive. When I think of all the accessories and things I bought for my iPod I would say really expensive. This case protects that investment. It's amazingly sturdy, as hard as a motorcycle helmet and comes with a easy to carry strap. I really feel like I could put my iPod in there and drop it from a good height and it would still be ok. Not that I'm going to do that but the case is really that great, like a mini black steel briefcase. It may be water proof, I haven't tested it yet but I wouldn't be surprised because of the high quality of it. Another great feature is that you can plug your head phones directly into the case and there's a wire inside that connects to the iPod's audio jack, so you can listen to music without taking it out of the case. You can't changes songs or adjust the volume or go up and down the menu but you can listen. My iPod connects to my car stereo through my glove box; I love putting it in this case so it doesn't get banged up while I'm driving. It keeps my 80 GB iPod very safe and even fits snuggly when it's dressed in an iSkin.

Really sturdy excellent for travel, small iPod sized case.

I haven't used mine yet, but I bought it after a kayaking trip in TN. My friend insisted we take his and man was that smart. As we may not have been well prepared this was one piece of gear that never failed. Through several rough portages, numerous rapids and full submersion our phone and personal info stayed bone dry and undamaged. Wheather for your GPS, phone or just stuff you want secure, I wouldn't plan a trip without Pelican.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pelican waterproof case, August 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I used this case to keep my phone & camera in while rafting down Kenai River. It worked exactly as it's supposed to. Everything inside was dry as could be. Everything outside was totally drenched. Lightweight, sturdy (it got banged around on the raft & in the airport quite a bit), definitely works well!

Yes, you too can defy the laws of physics with this case!

But seriously, Pelikan makes excellent cases. I use them for my telescope equipment and other electronics.

The apple store has a similar item that actually allows you to plug headphones into the sealed case and listen with it shut.

I sent this to my husband who is deployed in Iraq. He said it keeps the dust out and protects his ipod from drops and other beatings. If it keeps things safe in Iraq, I'm sure it will do great here.

5.0 out of 5 stars great case and not just for electronics, November 5, 2011

This review is from: Pelican 1050 Black Clear Micro Case with Clear lid and Carabiner (Electronics)
In addition to being used to protect electronics (which it does very well, as many other reviewers note), I wanted to mention this also makes an ideal case for a survival kit that can be stored in a car, or put into checked luggage when traveling on extended trips. It can house a multi-tool, small flashlight, emergency whistle, matches, string saw, and other assorted items that would be invaluable in an emergency situation. It is sturdy, waterproof, and attaches easily to a daypack for use out and about. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Case, September 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this case to hold my MP3 player (Cowon S9) and a set of IEMs. Everything fits nicely - the S9 is very snug top-to-bottom, with about 1/4" of space left on one side. There's plenty of space on top to put your IEMs or any other small accessories. I will say that the dimensions are slightly different than what's in the description due to the rubber liner. It reduces the inner dimensions to approximately 4.25 x 2.74 instead of the 4.37 x 2.87 in the description. The interior height of the case is reduced by a very small amount as well. While the case can be used without the rubber insert, it is necessary in order to create a watertight seal, so potential buyers should be aware of the slight difference in dimensions. I was hoping that it would fit the S9 with the headphones still plugged in, but I must have mis-measured, because even with the liner removed, the headphone jack still sticks out quite a bit past the edge of the case. Still a 5-star case though; I can't really fault it for my own measuring errors.
