This is my first boat. I can't store a boat and trailer in my driveway (parish ordinance), and I have no room to get one into the backyard. I wanted something I could easily put in the back of my pickup and take my son out in the water. It slides easily wherever there is grass, and doesn't need a launch, just some place to slide it into the water. It is quite stable, but not very fast. We have only taken it out five times so far just to explore and have fun. We haven't done any fishing yet. It's rated for a maximum of 3HP and 36 pounds of motor weight. I power it with an old 3 HP Evinrude that weighs 35 pounds. It will not win any races, but it will take us anywhere we want to go. The seats are comfortable enough and swivel to aid in steering and fishing. The only thing I would like them to change is it add some built-in wheels to make it easier to bring it over gravel, etc. Academy Sports has the Bass Raider 8 on sale for $329 right now.

This is a fabulous 1 or 2 person fishing boat. Not much in the way of cargo space, but perfect if you're fishing alone or just tooling around small bodies of water seeking out fish. Fits perfectly in the back of my small pick-up and is easily manageable in and out of the water. Much more stable then a john-boat, and no sides to contend with while trying to cast or bring things up over the side.

Only problem with it is the manufacturers drain-plugs on the front pontoons don't fit very snugly. They work to keep most of the water out, but replacements almost have to be ordered that form a tighter seal. Even with a bit of water in the hull though, this thing will stay afloat almost no matter what.
