This is the best cheat device I've ever used for PS2. I've been using it since V3 several years ago. It works very well and has excellent code support. It does have a few issues you should be aware of though.

1) If you have a newer slim PS2 model number 75001 or higher, the USB functions will NOT work for you. If you have any USB device plugged in the CB will freeze up. This is because Sony changed the USB chipset in these newer model PS2s and Pelican has so far failed to update their USB drivers to solve the problem. They also make no mention of this on their packaging, which is the main reason, I'm knocking a star off on the review.

2) There is a limitation on the save file size because it has to load the whole list into the PS2s RAM. If you load too large of a code list the CB will freeze up. Trying to flash Suikoden V via Day1 sees this issue a lot since it has almost 17000 codes in the file. To solve this, delete any and all games from the CB list that you don't have or don't intend to get. The code list is copied to your memory card the first time you use the CB and deleting them from there keeps it from loading all those codes each time, thus freeing up more system RAM.

Outside of these issues, and Pelican's nearly non-existent support department, the CB is a very solid product.

I.E. - Is it backwards compadable, when it comes to the PS3?

Well, i'm here to lay claim, and confirm it folks.

It works on the Playstation 3!

That's right. Unlike the GameShark, the CodeBreaker cheat device is able to be used in the new Sony PS3 system. What does that mean? Simple. The CB device allows you to still use cheats on your Playstation 2 games, while currently owning and using a Playstation 3 to play and use them.

Yes. You heard right. It really works.
Do everything it tells you to do, and it'll work.
On the PS3.

-First day codes are guarinteed.

-You'll almost never have to upgrade to a higher version, to enjoy newer games. Ever.

-It's got a better game roster.

-It works with the PS3!

It working on the PS3 is good enough to buy me in, considering my old GS refuses to do so.
But oh well...i've moved on to bigger and better things.

If you have a 60GB PS3, it will work!

(Not too sure about 20/80 GB versions though.)

I normally do not use cheat devices for my games/consoles (only got this to uncover a certain censored game recently), but I didn't realize what potential this particular product had. There is a massive library of pre-coded games in the database (you can manually add/download more to your memory card). The only problem I had with this product is that inputting codes without a keyboard is a very tedious affair. Quite possibly the best cheat device I have come across yet, highly recommended.

Product works great and you can even load up new codes using Day1! Definitely not something to pass up on, you never know when you might need it!

The Codebreaker works great. Although I found out I needed a specific flash drive in order to transfer codes and saves, right now I only needed to just spice up old games.

The Pelican codebreaker finally, after figuring out how to use it, works great! The problem was the support. There are 3 step directions on the packaging but other than that...NADA! If the code you need is not already on the disc then you need to go to "their" official website for additional codes. The moderators are pompous and surly. They make it clear that they do not work for Pelican. They are simply "contracting" for Pelican to develope cheat codes. They state repeatedly that they are not a support for Pelican. It took me over a week to figure it all out because I was terrified to ask for instructions! Plus, even though to sign up is free, they do not accept a lot of various email addresses. Mine is AOL... it was on the list of the banned. This does not put Pelican in a good light in my opinion. ( Birds of a feather... )
Again, the product is great... there is just no support or even instruction.

this product worked great. better codes than the other brands of cheat devices. also the only one for codes for Star Trek- Conquest.

This version is ACTUALLY version 10 NOT 9.3 but theres nothing wrong with that. This cheat device has so many codes that it takes over a minute to go from the top of the list to the bottom. Out of the box it has 1342 games and thousands of codes. I would recommend this product to anyone who loves to hack their games. This is the cheat device to purchase. And yes, I have used Action Replay and Gameshark before and they don't come anywhere close to this product. Also, I haven't had any problems with my memory card or incompatibility or anything else like what the other reviews say but it does make a weird noise the first time you start it up.

Excellent product-a must have

this is a pretty good tool in gaming. it gives you the chance to upload more codes into the codebreaker. one thing is it uses up space on your memory card for the cheats. so thats a bummer. but all in all good cheating tool.

This version comes with a massive list of games and codes to use out of the box, but I did have a problem. I tried to use the preset codes on a "Greatest Hits" version of the game and found out that it would not work. So I found out that if i used a USB drive to update the games i wanted with CB's Day 1 service it would work. Other than that it works fine.
