I got this for my son after some of electronic toys were ruined in Iraq. The sand, rain and abuse in a duffel bag ruined his camera and Ipod. He had this with him when he went to Afghanistan. The conditions there were even worse, these little boxes are very sturdy and with the additional foam you can make it to fit your needs.

I am extremely satisfied with a tip I recently saw under another customer's product picture: The Pelican 1010-026-100 Micro Case fits the Panasonic DMC-ZS3 camera just perfectly!Because of another review, I was a bit worried about the clear lid, which doesn't have extra protection inside, but the camera is very snug and secure in the case, it doesn't wiggle at all. Now I am looking forward to my next air travel, when the camera is clearly visible for security personnel at the checkpoint, because overseas I often had to remove my cameras from their bags. This case should speed up the check-through significantly!

I haven't used mine yet, but I bought it after a kayaking trip in TN. My friend insisted we take his and man was that smart. As we may not have been well prepared this was one piece of gear that never failed. Through several rough portages, numerous rapids and full submersion our phone and personal info stayed bone dry and undamaged. Wheather for your GPS, phone or just stuff you want secure, I wouldn't plan a trip without Pelican.

I used this case to keep my phone & camera in while rafting down Kenai River. It worked exactly as it's supposed to. Everything inside was dry as could be. Everything outside was totally drenched. Lightweight, sturdy (it got banged around on the raft & in the airport quite a bit), definitely works well!

In addition to being used to protect electronics (which it does very well, as many other reviewers note), I wanted to mention this also makes an ideal case for a survival kit that can be stored in a car, or put into checked luggage when traveling on extended trips. It can house a multi-tool, small flashlight, emergency whistle, matches, string saw, and other assorted items that would be invaluable in an emergency situation. It is sturdy, waterproof, and attaches easily to a daypack for use out and about. Highly recommended.

Good Case,

I bought this case to hold my MP3 player (Cowon S9) and a set of IEMs. Everything fits nicely - the S9 is very snug top-to-bottom, with about 1/4" of space left on one side. There's plenty of space on top to put your IEMs or any other small accessories. I will say that the dimensions are slightly different than what's in the description due to the rubber liner. It reduces the inner dimensions to approximately 4.25 x 2.74 instead of the 4.37 x 2.87 in the description. The interior height of the case is reduced by a very small amount as well. While the case can be used without the rubber insert, it is necessary in order to create a watertight seal, so potential buyers should be aware of the slight difference in dimensions. I was hoping that it would fit the S9 with the headphones still plugged in, but I must have mis-measured, because even with the liner removed, the headphone jack still sticks out quite a bit past the edge of the case. Still a 5-star case though; I can't really fault it for my own measuring errors.

Read the Description,
This review is from: Pelican Micro Case 1050 (Electronics)
I've seen these at the local camping store, but will buy from here because the price is much lower. These can have such a strong seal, though, that they're nearly impossible to open. So it's a good/bad trait for this product. One reviewer was upset that his stuff got wet after swimming with it, but the description states that it is not for swimming or submerging. Besides, anyone who's familiar with "waterproof" products knows that "watertight" means water resistant, not waterproof. If it were, it would have stated to what depth it is waterproof.

I bought a few cases for myself to use on our 31' fishing boat. It gets wet and nasty out in the ocean. With a pelican case I know that whatever I put inside is safe and dry. I've given some away to friends and now need to buy more for myself!

Great Case!!,

This review is from: Pelican Micro Case 1050 (Misc.)
I bought three of these, and three of the 'Micro' size. They're very heavy-duty, and well designed. The hinges rotate on a stainless steel axis, and the case itself seems unbreakable.I use them when rafting the Colorado, and have banged them on rocks, trailer frames, etc. without even a scratch. As far as water resistance, I've never hesitated to have them float or submerge when rafting - without a drop of water inside - evah. Pelican makes a great case - buy one, and it'll be around for a good long time. |
