The Pelouze 4040 Heavy-Duty Electronic Utility Scales [w/12 x 12-1/2 Platform & 400-lb. Capacity] is the best scale we ever owned, bar none.

We're in our thirties, and have used or owned a variety of gauges throughout our adult lives, such as kitchen scales, bathroom scales, and postage scales, but this one is truly the all-in-one champion.

In our study of this model, the Pelouze 4040:

(1) Authentically weighed packages for regular mailing [via USPS, UPS, FED-EX, etc];

(2) Displayed accurate body weight in comparison to other scales at several medical facilities

(3) Figured ounce-weighted ingredients for baking or cooking; and

(4) Proved truly correct when weighing luggage before traveling.

Bathroom, kitchen, or mailing scales, no matter how fancy, simply cannot compete with the 'all purpose' Pelouze 4040 Heavy-Duty Electronic Utility Scale.

This scale used to be the best we've ever owned; however, literally days post our review above, OUNCES were no longer measuring on the unit. For example, when weighing mail for postage, the scale refused to read anything under one pound. We tried moving it to different locations or surfaces and tried other electrical outlets; however, the unit continued to read "0.0" as the weight. When adding items OVER one pound, the scale seemed to work fine. Not sure if our scale malfunctioned, or if its the product that failed.

However, we decided to return this and try a different brand name with similar features. Note: we selected an "Ultraship" digital scale because over 100 reviewers recommended them.

My company uses these scales in three production facilities and find them to be durable, functional and accurate. In the 5 years we've had them in my facility the only time we've had to replace them has been due to user damage. Great product for the price!

Don't get me wrong...This is a great scale. With the airlines being so tight on weights these days, its a must have. I just don't know if it is worth the 170.00 bucks?

A great scale. Easy to use, durable construction and not flimsy like so many other things built these days.

Nothing comes close to the Pelouze shipping scale for quality. Never be over weight again at the airport when they check your luggage.

This is one great scale, it is within a 0.5 lbs. of the doctors office. Also delivery was fast. Ordered it on Monday had it by Tuesday eve.

Its a heavy duty scale n it does like its made to last.. but definitely not to use with small things, more like a receiving scale than a shipping scale

I got this scale because i thou it be better to have something u can use if u got big packages to weight... my friend has the pelouze 4010 that weights in increments of .2 lbs but its only up to 150lbs... and this one seemed to be alike at least psychically but it isnt.

I tried it for 3weeks and at first i thou i could bear with it, i usually weight things from 15 - 30ish pounds. but the deal its that when shipping things u need to know to have the closest u can to the weight, so this scale its not good to rely to... if u see 10.0 lbs.. chances are that its over by 2 or 3 onces.. if u see its 10.5lbs chances are that its under or its over.. using USPS for my main shipping solutions .. they had returned me 2 packages for insufficient postage, cuz they where over 4 ounces than the declared and paid postage.

Bottom line.. if u need a more accurate scale.. whit a minimal amount of error look for something else.. perhaps the 4010 model

My scale came in the next day and was in perfect condition, just as described. I have been using the scale for 2-3 weeks and it works excellent.

I purchased this scale for my diet that I began prior to the Holidays --(yes I question the sense in starting a diet prior to the Holidays too but needed to get started sooner rather than later)-- and my coworker mentioned she used this scale. I went to several stores trying the standard bathroom scales and every single one gave me vastly different weights. I knew these were far off and not reliable. This scale is FABULOUS. It is digital and really substantial as scales go. I weighed in at the doctors office one day and went home and weighed in on this scale and it gave me exactly the same number as the specialty scale at the doctors office! Plus if I am mailing something, heck I have a reliable way to weigh my packages too.

Work great ... serves double duty, as a
bathroom scales and airline luggage
weight restriction verification.

Second one ... the relatives got
the first one for their luggage.

Would recommend it ... go for it.
