About the Author

Nancy Lohr traces her love of books to her early experiences of listening to her father read poetry. She wrote stories and poems while still in elementary school, and her first job, as an eighth grader, was in a library. Since then, her work as teacher and librarian has given her story ideas and inspired the creation of Jamie and Willie B., the two lively boys in Pelts and Promises.

Mrs. Lohr lives in Greenville, South Carolina, with her husband, Alan, who is a musician, and her daughter, Erin.

This story, about two lively boys whose prank lands them in a dilemma,teaches the importance of hard work, making restitution and keeping promises even when that seems impossible. Add a beloved pet to the equation and you have a book that will be enjoyed by boys and girls alike.
