Book Description

Can their love withstand the trials of war?

Georgiana Darcy and Edward Fitzwilliam want only to be together. But when the former Emperor Napoleon escapes from his exile on the Isle of Elba, Britain is plunged into renewed war with France ... and Edward is once more called away to fight.

To be with the man she loves, Georgiana makes the perilous journey to Brussels, in time to witness the historic downfall of Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo. But when Edward is gravely injured in the battle, she will need more courage than she ever knew she had to fight for their future together.

Pemberley to Waterloo is the sequel to Georgiana Darcy's Diary and is Book 2 of the Pride and Prejudice Chronicles.  It is appropriate for all ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved this book! February 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
OK, to be honest, I've not yet read Jane Austen's books - yet. I have watched and loved the movies however. While this is focused on Georgiana from "Pride and Prejudice", it does a good job of standing on its own. I was pleased to find that it didn't try to copy Jane Austen's style and yet still had that same flavor. This was such a good story with good character development; it made me feel like I was reading Georgiana's journal. I enjoyed the artwork included too.

The only negative comment is that it does tend to repeat what is happening but for the most part it wasn't an issue.

I recommend this to any Jane Austen fan or anyone who likes a good love story. Don't start reading it though, unless you have time to finish - I had to finish before going to bed and getting up the next day was tough.

FYI: there was only kissing - as there should be for any of "Pride and Prejudice" romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended! December 27, 2011

Anna Elliott's second foray into the world of Jane Austen is even more delightful and entertaining than the first. In traveling from Pemberley to Brussels, Georgiana traverses far more than the distance between the two countries. In fact, Georgiana grows up. I was enchanted with this book from the first page. Elliott's sure hand and extensive knowledge of the period provides just enough framework to ground the reader in Jane Austen's world, but with Elliott's own definitive touch. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars I missed Darcy and Elizabeth October 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love Pride and Prejudice. I thoroughly enjoyed Georgiana's Diary, the writer included all of my favorite characters from P&P and I was sorry when the book concluded. In this book however, I missed Mr.Darcy and Elizabeth. I couldn't imagine Mr. Darcy allowing his sister to remain in an unsafe war torn country. That just didn't ring true to me. I kept imagining him riding down there to search for his cousin and protect his sister. I finished the book with more questions than answers. Perhaps Anna Elliott could continue the story back in England surrounded by Georgiana's family.

Good book, well written and definitely plausible and possible. Written in the manner of Jane Austen, a good read, that made me look for more of Anna's books. Read more
