I purchased this book soon after getting a Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy. Since the front cover says "A comprehensive guide to owning and caring for your dog," I was expecting a breed specific guide to raising and training a Corgi puppy.

What I found instead was a guide rich in information about the breed, but lacking practicality for a new owner. The chapters on care and training tend to talk in generalities rather than specifics. They are more of an overview than a nuts-and-bolts how-to. It often tells you what to do, but not how to do it. As someone trying to train his new puppy, that's not very useful.

I would highly recommend this book to someone who is considering getting a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. It tells you a lot about the breed, and gives you a good idea about what you'll be getting into as a new owner. It also provides a good overview on training. However, I would not recommend it to someone who is a new puppy owner looking for guidance. A book specifically on puppy care and training would be a better choice in that situation.

Burton's volume covers the history, characteristics, training and care of your Pembroke Welsh Corgi. As a new dog owner, this book was a pleasure to read, being packed with useful information. The pictures and layout make this volume a great coffee table book. I highly recommend it.

I bought this book to learn more about the Corgi that I own. It was very informative and written in an entertaining manner.

I feel like this book taught me so much about the breed and prepared me to be a good mom for my pups!

This is a quite comprehensive book regarding Corgis. Includes history, breed standard and care. Great book for Corgi lovers, owners or potential owners

We got this when we knew for sure that we would get a PWC, great resource for life span of the dog.
