How well do you really know your pen pal?,
By
This review is from: My Pen Pal Pat (Real Kids Readers) (Real Kid Readers: Level 3) (Paperback)
When third graders Pat and Pat become pen-pals, they're thrilled. Not only do they have the same name, but they have the same color hair and eyes, and they both love baseball, pizza, and skateboarding. They can even relate to the pain of having younger siblings. They'd make the perfect best friends, except for one thing-- and it's not distance. Patricia thinks the other Pat is a girl, while Patrick thinks Pat is a boy. What will happen when they meet?
This book is not only a cute introduction to the concept of pen pals; it also teaches against making assumptions and reminds us to look past our differences. Illustrated with photographs and full of hand-written letters (and even decorated envelopes), this story feels true to life. |
