The PenAgain pens feature a unique "Y" design that allow the pen to fits over the index finger and allows the writing point to be positioned for the most comfortable grip possible. Everyone in my family agrees that these are better than regular pens for extended use, but they do take some practice and getting used to. I was skeptical that this was just another gimmick, but after a few tries of this pen I was hooked.

As a side note, I am a "lefty" and the rest of my family are "righties" and it works just as well for all of us.

Recommended! PenAgain also makes kids pencils, TWIST N' WRITE PENAGAIN CHILDRENS PENCILS, 4PK, that I did not like because they are a little smaller, but if you have small hands they might be a good choice for you.

After two years of not being able to write by hand, I can now do it again with the PenAgain. My pain from my Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome makes my hand pain severe, sometimes severe enough I can't hold a pen to sign my name on important paperwork, and filling it out before was out of the question. I was nervous at first to try the PenAgain, because I was afraid that if it didn't work, nothing would. I was so pleasantly surprised when I could write up to four pages in my journal again! After four pages my hand still cramps and hurts too bad to go on, but writing that much is such a huge improvement in my life. I can now fill out important paperwork and write in my journal, something I've missed, as a writer, so much in the last two years. You can buy refills for the PenAgain, so you don't have to throw them away, and fill the landfills even more. I'm excited to try the highlighters they make and I've been telling everyone I know with hand pain how awesome the PenAgains are!

I really need an ergonomic way of writing since my job involves a lot of hand writing. This product was recommended by the occupational therapist I work with and has been a real blessing in saving my hand.

PenAgain is a wonderful invention that allows me to write without pain, since I have severe arthritis in my fingers. It's soft cushiony covering is non-slip and it's a pleasure to hold it. I can do crossword puzzles for hours without pain! I keep one in my purse, one in my office, and well, everywhere!

Everytime I write with a pen or a pencil, within two minutes, my hand would start burning. I'm in 11th grade now, but last year, I completely gave up on taking notes in class, because of the utter pain. In the beginning, I'd force myself to, but my limit was 3 pages of notes a day. Needless to say, I didn't do too well on tests.

Then came the Penagain. I can take PAGES of notes now! My hand doesn't hurt at all! *cries* I love it sooo much.

Now if only they could make a pencil version of this for bigger hands (I know there's one for kids, but I don't know how that'll work with me).

Alright, so after dealing with the pen's HORRIBLE ink (I love the pens to bits, but in all honesty the ink stinks; they're too gray-ish and they stop working too quickly) I have found another way to refill the pens besides buying refills.

I got the ink stick from a Papermate Profile 1.4 pen, cut it to the size of the penagain ink stick (I'd suggest that you make sure that the ink doesn't exceed that size before you cut it, because otherwise you might have a mess), and stuck it in the penagain. It won't go in as easily as the penagain ink sticks will, but it will go in if you move it around a bit and make sure that the cut end doesn't have any sticking ends that might prevent it from going it. BUT! It will go in. And you'll have smoother ink that lasts longer. And honestly the Papermate pens probably cheaper and easier to get your hands on.

I purchased these for my Mom who recently had joint replacement surgery on her right thumb. The day she got the cast off she was able to write with her normal signature using a PenAgain. It took a little practice but she is 'over the moon' about being able to write her own bills and a check at the grocers. She's 84 and doing great in her rehab.
