This box is not quite as sturdy as I expected, and has a very flimsy clasp on the front. It is adequate for storage, but its' portability is jeopardized by the fact that it could easily come open and spill the contents. Disappointing.

As noted by the previous reviewer, this box is constructed of fairly thin plastic. It serves its function for storing hanging folders. It is light, and sturdy enough for temporary use, or if you are not planning on moving it around too much.
The lid snaps closed over a piece of raised plastic. If this thing tipped over, I see this latch coming undone very easily, and your files spilling out. The hinges are open, that is, several open c-shaped plastic clasps on the lid snap over several plastic rods on the box itself. Again I could see these coming undone or breaking if the box was tipped over or dropped. As I do not plan on using this for long term storage or travel, I have just taken the lid off.
The lid is raised to easily accommodate folder labels.
If you are looking for something to travel/move with, I would look for something sturdier. For my purposes, it's fine.

As many others have mentioned, the latch on this product is flimsy and does not connect well. I wanted to use this as a portable container for my school books so I didn't have to haul of them in my backpack all the time, and could carry them around in the back of my car. Between the hinge and the latch, this only lasted one trip between the car and the house. The top has now completely seperated from the hinge.

This might work well for light weight file folders, or as a temporary storage, it just didn't work for what I was looking for.
