These old-fashioned look-a-likes are a great value. Installing them in a garage or other similar utility type space really puts light where you need it. Beware that the cord cannot be shortened to less than 6 inches for safety reasons, and the ceiling height should be at least 10 feet so that it doesn't hang too low. It cannot be flush mounted.Using 200-watt clear bulbs with these fixtures floods our garage with crisp, bright uniform light. If you google "barn light" you will find other companies classic reproductions for pricey or nicer applications, but this low cost unit is great for a large utility space.

Certainly worth the price,

I'm using it on an entrance porch so it was a little more of an "industrial" look than I wanted, but a can of spray paint took care of that. I had priced a more decorative fixture at a lighting store for $120. I'm a little concerned about the plastic stress reliefs but haven't had any problems so far. Certainly worth the price and I may purchase more for my garage & barn.

Decent Fixture or the price,

Decent fixture for the price when compared to the other RLM fixtures available. The plastic strain relief does not hold securely and will require a bit of tinkering or you'll find your light slipping down and dangling from the wirenuts.

I put 4ea lights in a newly constructed 30'W X 40'L X 14'H work shop that has no windows but does have 4 translucent panels. The lights were more than sufficient for normal work but doesn't negate the need for additional light in confined space.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HM5LQE/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title |
