I'll admit that this book is aimed at a little lower reading level then I am at(I'm 15 in an Honors English class)but I love the Pendragon series. The Merchant of Death was a great book and it would have been hard for another book to beat it, but Faar does so, and with flying colors. The locations are fantastic, the action intense and the suspense high. The only complaint I have for this series is that the events that happen around Mark and Courtney seem boring compared to the story Pendragon is expirencing. Mark's character is kind of unbelievable and lame. However don't let that discourage you from reading this book.

In my opinion, Pendragon-The Lost City of Faar, by D.J. MacHale, is definitely the best book in the series so far. The story is about a 14 year-old boy named Bobby Pendragon. Bobby "flumes" to different territories to help them through their "turning point." In this book Bobby flumes to Cloral, which is a territory entirely covered with water. There, he finds the evil Saint Dane who attempts to push territories into chaos. In this story, Saint Dane is attempting to throw Cloral into total chaos by poisoning their food supply. During the course of the story, Bobby encounters many unforeseen dangers. However, the real question is, can Bobby help to save Cloral and restore the territory back to peace?

This book was a very exciting book to read. I loved how it starts up right from where the first book, The Merchant of Death, left off. The author describes all of the new territories and characters in EXCELLENT detail. I felt as if I was in the story experiencing everything Bobby was. The author also keeps the reader in suspense throughout the entire book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes an action-packed fantasy with a "futuristic" feel to it. I really enjoyed reading this book and I can't wait to read the third one in the series!!!

The Pendragon series gets better with the second book. Bobby Pendragon begins to accept his role as a traveler and is forced to become a mentor as well. The traveler role becomes clearer in this book, and Cloral is a very interesting world with all of its high-tech water-based technology. MacHale keeps the series interesting by continuing to surpass his creativity with each new world that Bobby and the travelers encounter while trying to foil Saint Dane's plans to destroy Halla(The Universe).

I also liked the newer element of time travel that relates to a realm we all understand--Second Earth(Earth).

This book is fast-paced and intriguing--those are the two elements I look for when reading a book. The Pendragon series has satisfied those conditions thus far.

I hope the rest in the series are as good as the first two are.

In this book, Bobby and Uncle Press are on their way to Cloral, the water world. All the people on Cloral live on boat-like cites and coexist in peace. The inhabitants of Coral make good use of their environment; water is used in many creative ways, from powering cool little gadgets to the material used in building. But Saint Dane has come to Cloral and so the perfect world will not be perfect much longer, unless Bobby, Press, and Spader can save it.

When I read the first Pendragon book I was a little confused, trying to figure out whether or not I liked it. When I saw this book at the library, I decided to give this series another chance. And I am glad I did! This book is better then the first one. The authors writing has improved greatly and the story is more engaging and interesting. I really enjoyed reading about the fascinating and fantastical world of Cloral, as well as the introduction of the character Spader. I look forward to reading more of Bobby's adventures and the many worlds he will visit!

This book is simply, AWESOME! I really enjoyed The Merchant of Death and I waited a long time for the sequel to come out. The Lost City of Faar is, if this is possible, better than the first one. There is a lot of suspense in this book as Bobby Pendragon and Uncle Press continue their adventures through time and space. In this book, they go to the territory of Cloral (a water world), where they have to find out what Saint Dane's newest evil scheme is. Will they survive? Find out in The Lost City of Faar...

This book is truly one of the best books I have ever read. I could not put it down, and it is really hard for me to sit around and wait for the next Pendragon book to come out. For those of you fantasy fans this is the perfect book filled with action, adventure, and magic. So I suggest buying this book immediately.

D.J MacHale has hit it big with his Pendragon series. The first book was hard to beat, but the second story in this series, Lost City of Faar was just as good as the first, maybe even better. We meet new characters, a new territory with all it's different quirks. Some unexpected things happen which keeps you wanting to read more! We see Bobby understand more and more about what he is and some mysteries are uncovered.

Highly recommended if you enjoyed the first book, Liked books such as "So you want to be a wizard", "Harry Potter and ..." and The "Dark is Rising".

In the first book of the epic "pendragon" series, called "The Merchant of Death" Bobby and his Traveler companions saved Denduron from utter destruction. Now, in "The Lost City of Faar", Uncle Press and Bobby travel to Cloral, where saint dane, the king of chaos, is wrecking havoc.

Loor, Bobby, Uncle Press, Mark, and Courtney are all good, lovable characters. Now, in this 2nd book, we meet a new, cool character, Vo Spader, the traveler for Cloral. Saint Dane takes more chaos than ever in this book killing entire islands and cities.

it's up to Bobby, Press, and Spader to the rescue to make sure Saint Dane doesn't destroy Cloral. in the sequel to "The Merchant of Death", you will find more action than the first book, more suspense than a great epic drama, and more humor than Jerry Seinfeld. d. j machale does a great job of combining those three elements to make "The lost city of Faar"

I loved this book from the first chapter to the last journal. it is one of the best serieses today for young children 12-16 years old. if you need a challenge, or a break from Harry Potter or another big fantasy novel, read the Pendragon series, and you will find a great, suspenseful book.

You have to read it to enjoy it. I read this book in about three days, 384 pages, during some really long long (14 hours a day) car rides. Bobby Pendragon nearly dies about 700 times but always has someone to proctect him until.....I'm not spoiling it for you. THe best part of this book is everything! There's no way to choose one part.

This book is a great sequel to Merchant of Death. Basically, Bobby Pendragon is a Traveler, who travels to different worlds to prevent that world from falling into catastrophe. Saint Dane is his enemy, who's goal is to create chaos, and who Bobby must fight to keep the world he's in at peace. Bobby keeps journals of his adventures, and sends them to his friends Mark and Courtney, so they can read of his adventures.

Although this book was a great epic adventure novel, I don't think it lived up to the first book. It was slower, and Loor (Bobby's friend from the first novel) was hardly in it at all. His new "sidekick" buddy, Spader, is kind of annoying. And the Mark and Courtney parts are really pretty boring, and in my opinion, poorly written compared to the Bobby chapters. The "surprise ending" in the Mark and Courtney part wasn't so much of a good surprise, but rather the author just leaving out a huge part of the story and then playing dumb.

In the end though, the book has great science fiction elements, and is suspenseful. You will definitely get hooked on this series.
