5 Star Review
I love children to use their imaginations. In their mind they can go anywhere, do anything, even become a pirate and find a treasure. "Penelope the Purple Pirate" by Melissa Northway is a fun book for children. Both parents and teachers will love the story as much as their children.
Melissa has been writing and creating since she was a youngster. She took her own adventure after college where she lived and worked in Japan as an ESL teacher. During her three years in Japan she traveled throughout Vietnam and Thailand, which has inspired her writing. Her little tomboy was the inspiration to write about a fun and spunky character who likes to have adventures with her friends, while at the same time teach children the importance of treating others with kindness and respect. She has a Masters in Nutrition and plans to write fun nutrition books for children.
Great imagination. Very cute story, my son enjoys us reading it over and over again. A heroine for all ages.Published on August 6, 2012 by J. Jones
This is a fun book. I use it with my pirate unit in my speech therapy sessions. I have the app too so I have multiple ways to share this story with my students.Published on May 8, 2012 by Cindy
