Indispensable but frustrating,

Over the years I have owned at least one previous edition of this volume that I have thrown away, with regrets. It is good to see that this book which is kind of unique has been re-edited. However as it has been more biased towards CDs and less towards LPs, it does not have the historic scope that such a book usually has. There have been other guides that are now out of print but this one is more extensive. It also does feature very (very) little text on any of the entries, except the more important ones and then it concerns more the collecting value of some ultra-rare records. This makes it a difficult read if you are not a serious collector. However almost any music book collection needs it, so...
