Great toy, but as stated, the sqeaker has to go. I did this simply by taking it apart and removing it. It's easy enough to do, just take all the screws out (all you need is a phillips screwdriver)and pull the 2 peices apart. You'll see a small clear plastic "accordian-shaped" peice at the bottom near the bottom of the stairs, it will have a black horn-shaped peice attached to it. Unhook it from the arm that connects to it (i actually unhooked the arm also so it wasn't just flopping around in there) and voila, no more squeaky penguins!

Now the stairs that take the penguins up is still a bit loud, but not nearly as annoying as *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *sq...ok you get the idea.

I bought this toy for my 10 year old son with autism. He loves to watch the penguins in constant motion and luckily this is also a very duarable toy! It was easy to put together, and if my son can't break it no child can! We use it as an educational toy too, with different colored penguins we use sign language to identify each and also to learn how to sequence. A simple, cute, fun, durable toy.

I'm kind of surprised to see this toy online. I had it when I was a kid, 20+ years ago. I absolutely loved it. I don't think you have to have or be a parent of a child with autism to love this toy. I don't have autism and I loved to watch it, young kids just like to do things repetitively, and I remember anxiously waiting for the penguins to get to the top of the stairs (it takes a long time in kid minutes) because I know what will happen when they get there, but the transition from going up with help to coming down on their own was fascinating.

My girls, ages 4 and 2 love "The Penguin Game." There really is no "game" here, it's just a cute thing to watch. My 4-year-old who is on the autistic spectrum just loves to watch the penguins go round and round. She finds it soothing. Sometimes she just likes to hear the noise running and doesn't watch the penguins. My 2-year-old (who doesn't put things in her mouth but still is not allowed to play with it unattended) likes to pick up the penguins and move them around to different areas on the track and let them go. This toy is worth the 16 or 17 bucks.

This toy is great for what I bought it for and that is a reinforcer for my son who is on the autism spectrum. It is used in the Baby Einstein DVD Baby Beethoven which he loves.

I pay to babysit my kid $12 an hour. This toy babysit for about 8 hours and it is still doing the job so it was worth the money :)
I also had to open the toy and took out the annoying sound thingy.
Overall I would recommend to buy it.

My boys saw this game on an episode of Baby Einsteins and I found it when looking for Marbleworks for my son's birthday. At the party, when this was opened, all the kids, ages 8 down to 2, sat and watched it for the longest time. It was probably the most popular toy my son got that day. I did have a problem with one of the penguins, no matter what we did, it woudn't slide properly. But I wrote to Amazon and they fixed it for me, by sending a whole new set! Amazing customer service. And a really fun toy all around.

We got this game for our special needs 3 year old and she absolutely loves it. Not only that, but our 3 other children, aged 7,9, and 11, also find it amusing and entertaining. There really is no real game play, you just watch the penguins climb the stairs and go down the slide, but for some reason, it's very entertaining and all 4 kids love it. We've had it less than a week and it has already seen hours of play time. The sound of the penguins can get annoying, but it's worth it to see how much our daughter enjoys it. I would definitely recommend this toy.
