Very good reel for the price. Has line guide to distribute line evenly and keep line from bunching up. I caught a striped bass of 25" trolling off the NJ shore. Had to throw it back though since NJ minimum is 28". I will be using it again this weekend to try to get a keeper.

They actually made a reel and rod combo(with penn slammer rod) That made me think Penn had changed their ways and made a quality product. I purchased this and was so excited to use it on my first trip out and sure enough first fish i caught (a measly ling) broke my level wind and completely ruined my reel. Upon further review the reel is built with brass and steel parts connected in the level wind system ensuring that the reel breaks. This reel has been rumered to have been recalled online and should be avoided at all costs. Penn is a terrible company and probably when it comes to costumer service as i had to buy the level wind system from them and when the part came it wouldn't fit because it was bent. I called them about this and they sent another part which again was bent. Penn is literally the worst company i have every dealt with and i hope my story can convince everyone who is considering them to change their mind as it would save them the money and time effort and headache that i could not save myself from.

Big REEL,

This is the big Pen GTO reel, about the size of a softball. Use it to fish Chinook in the Puget Sound and it works great, just wish I caught more fish. No problems with the reel, used it about 10 times. It had a few scratches when I received it because the packaging inside the box was non-existent.
