This is not a toy, but an actual field hockey stick to be used by youths. The stick is very colorful and caught the eyes of the girls immediately, and they began to play with the sticks right away. I bought 2, for twin girls. The stick is very strong, and will take much wear and tear. The stick is made out of wood, with a synthetic leather grip. It is made in India; field hockey is the national sport of India. The 2 sticks ordered were delivered very quickly, in perfect condition. There is a word of caution, if you are thinking of purchasing this stick for a very young child, but it has nothing to do with the fine quality of the stick. I purchased the 2 sticks to introduce 5 year olds to field hockey. It was recommended that I buy 30" sticks for them, so that they wouldn't outgrow them quickly. They are presently too long, for them to hold the stick properly. However they can handle the stick and get the feel for it. This is analogous to the situation of those, like me, whose mother bought clothing for them which was way too big at the time, so they could "grow into it". The girls will "grow into" these sticks and have years of use with them. Hopefully, they will enjoy the sport and continue to play it.

The stick was a good price. Shipping was fast. But, the item was not as pictured. The picture shows red, white, and blue design, but the stick we received was orange.
