"You're gonna need a bigger boat!",

I bought this for saltwater fishing in the backwater and a little surfcasting. It's great for both and I've caught some really nice fish on it but I'm gonna have to get a bigger boat so I can go out where the big ones are. This will handle 'em.

Good enough,

This review is from: Penn Spinfisher SS Metal Series Spinning Reel (250-Yard, 15-Pound) (Sports)
I like this expensive reel and it has worked well during the short time I've owned it. However, I have the first edition of the 750ss reel and although the 650 feels smoother, the 750 bail operation is more solid and the 750 feels more powerful when reeling in my line. At this price and in this day, I expected the new 650 to be noticeably better than the old 750, not the opposite. I regret not taking a closer look at Okuma because of my past experience with Penn. 4 stars because I still think the 650 is a nice reel, I'm just not sure it should cost so much.
