While there are nice examples of Fraktur in this book, they are all line drawings in black and white, much like a coloring book. I did not realize this book would be pictures only, and basically intended to be used for coloring or stencil work.

If you like drawn in and filled in patterns of different geometric shapes on tulips, hearts, birds, people hair and clothes, etc.,with pen and ink then you will love this book. Pennsylvania Duth Designs by Rebecca McKillip gives a brief history of the reason why its called Dutch and not Deutsch. My favorite is the people and the woman hair that done in different patterns of pen and ink drawing. This is a good book for pen and ink artist and others that are interested in Pennsylvania Dutch history and designs.

I bought this book for the designs and was not looking for a historically informative text - that I can get else where but in the meantime I have some wonderful designs to expand upon for rug hooking projects. Thanks to the author for the great addition to my library.
