5.0 out of 5 stars The only comprehensive look at PSP history, July 6, 2006

This review is from: The Pennsylvania State Police : A history of service to the Commonwealth, 1905 to the present (Hardcover)
This book by Phil Conti is an excellent choice for anyone looking to know more about the history of the Pa State Police. Working for the Pa State Police Museum in Hershey, this book has been my constant reference. While it lacks an index, it is laid out chronologically, so it is fairly easy to look up specific information. Though I intended but was not able to read it cover to cover, I have used it time and again over the last few years to clarify a question or give me insight on a particular time period. I particularly like the the first half of the book devoted to the early years, during the time of Groome and Adams. It is superbly researched and written by Conti, who undoubtedly devoted his life to gathering his material for this book. We at the museum are forever grateful for his time and effort in doing so and have recommended this book to anyone with a thirst for historical knowledge.
