5.0 out of 5 stars Best issue so far! March 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the 3rd issue of Penny Dreadnought and it is my favorite so far. This issue revolves around an apocalyptic theme and as usual there are four stories.
The first: Precious Metal by Aaron Polson was interesting and poignant. 4*
The second: Only the Lonely by Iain Rowan was strange. I think it could easily have been in the ambiguous issue. I LOVED it. 5*
The third: The New Words by Alan Ryker was excellent. Imagine if words had a revolt against people, what would it look like? 5*
The last story: He by James Everington was quite original. It had me thinking for days after I read it. A tribal story at the first, populated by hes and shes, but then it becomes something else. It was unique, deep and ultimately hopeful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Stories March 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I liked these stories a lot! The main reason I purchased this ebook was because of James Everingon's He. He, meaning the story, was excellent and action packed with horror and scares. I never knew when that beast was going to attack and from where. Excellent descriptive, concise, and action words.

The only thing I believe would make He, Jame's story, Outstanding is if He the hero had a name and also the heroine called She. It was confusing to me at times reading he, she, he's tribe, she's, etc. I believe by having a name for He/She would help me relate more to these characters and their tribes.

Two similar stories in the same genre are: The Cave Girl and I Am A Barbarian - Both stories written by one of the greatest adventure writers of all time, Edgar Rice Burroughs. The greatest writer of all time of similar stories is Robert E. Howard and Conan/Kull.

I look forward to read more of not only Jame's stories but the other authors in this book as they are very good also.
