This review is from: Penny Merriments: Street Songs of 17th Century England (Audio CD)
The City Waites have brought to life the vigorous music of the 17th century. They perform on period instruments, but this is no dusty museum piece. You will sing and dance along, just as people did when this music was popular the first time. Lucy Skeaping also edited a book, Broadside Ballads, that has the lyrics and music to these songs and many more.Broadside Ballads: (Songbook) (Voice and Piano)
