5.0 out of 5 stars Platinum drywall lift
The Platinum drywall lift is a good tool for the money, especially with a 3 year warranty. The lift went together easily and it works very well.
The only down side of this deal was the packaging. When I received my lift, the box that it came in looked like it had been through the mill.
A few of the plastic caps were damaged in shipping, but I contacted their...

1.0 out of 5 stars Pro Grade Drywall Hoist
I purchased this hoist for my husband who is rehabbing houses. We were excited that it was such a good buy but disappointed when we used it. On the first piece of drywall which was a 12 foot piece, the hoist wheel, one of the supports and a caster bent. When we called Discount Tommy they said we could send it back but it weighs 100 lbs. We would end up with a refund of...

1.0 out of 5 stars Pro Grade Drywall Hoist, June 11, 2008
I purchased this hoist for my husband who is rehabbing houses. We were excited that it was such a good buy but disappointed when we used it. On the first piece of drywall which was a 12 foot piece, the hoist wheel, one of the supports and a caster bent. When we called Discount Tommy they said we could send it back but it weighs 100 lbs. We would end up with a refund of $59.00 after spending about $269 for the purchase and return shipping. I would never have bought this thing had I known. I read other people's reviews before purchasing this hoist but aparently they were luckier then we were. Chinese junk. Disappointed.Professional 11 Foot Drywall Lift / Hoist by Platinum Tool 11'-Ceiling 15'-Wall - One-Person Application

They seem to be a good company to do business with.

4.0 out of 5 stars Drywall Lift, December 11, 2007
It functions as advertised and does so quite well. The one issue I see with this unit is that to load a sheet of drywall, the height one man must lift a sheet to set it in the sprin loaded keepers is nearly 4 feet off the floor, so its almost a 2 man lift. Otherwise it works very well for the money involved...

1.0 out of 5 stars this is dangerous, December 21, 2009
This review is from: Pentagon Tool "Lazy Lifter" Professional 11Ft Drywall Lift Hoist (Tools & Home Improvement)
I am a customer home builder for the last 31 years. We rent a drywall lift couple times a year, but with business slow we are hanging our selves so I ordered this lift. It is not safe, my guys refuse to use it. The arms bend, the welds were broken in 2 areas when we opened the box, the mechanizm that is supposed to hold the drywall in place slips. We took it apart twice to see if we did something wrong, but it is a copy cat, looks the same but it is of very poor quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars A tool that makes a tough job easy, January 5, 2008

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This was my first time hanging drywall . I thought about making T braces with 2x4s and have my wife help me . Hanging 5/8 drywall overhead like that probably would have ended horribly . With this tool she helped me load the drywall and then I could send her away . It was very easy to lift and position the pieces provided you measured correctly ( who,me?) and put them in place . No arguments with the wife or broken drywall . It was easy enough I even taught her how to use it . For the do it yourselfer this is a must have for this type of work . I was thinking of selling it after I'm done but maybe not .Pro Grade Drywall Panel Lift - Hoist 11'-Ceiling 15'-Wall - One-Person Panel Application

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Lift! Great Price! 100% Satisfied., October 30, 2007
I bought this lift a few months back and I have hung about 40 sheets of drywall on the ceiling. It seems to be well built, easily transportable since it breaks apart without tools into three pieces, and was a great help in hanging ceilings sheets. Being that I do renovation work for my family every now and then this is the most valuable tool I've bought to date. The best part is I didn't spend $700 on a tool I only use a few times a year. For $250 and the elimination of headaches--it is well worth every penny.

Great product for the price. I was able to buy my own lift for about the cost of just over 2 weeks rental on the same thing locally, and I get to keep it! Item was just as described, only flaw was some broken plastic endcaps, but that appears to be a common problem and fixed easily with some tape. Puts together in about 10 minutes with just a few common tools. This is a must for the do it yourselfer doing drywall.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real money saver, December 4, 2007

I needed plenty of time to install my drywall, and renting would have cost too much for the job. This machine was easy to use and makes installing drywall a one man job. Great time and money saver! I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars One Man Show, October 30, 2007
I was so pleased with this product I had to take a minute to share my thoughts. This was just what I needed to give myself an extra hand. I do renovation work and for smaller jobs when I'm working by myself this has come in so handy. It is easy to use, not too bulky or heavy and helps you work like a pro. Its even easy to move around the job.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great!, January 6, 2008
I purchased this product for my husband -- he's in the middle of a garage reno and addition. He found that it was very easy to assemble and certainly lives up to its claim of "one-person application." He would definitely recommend this product.
