4.0 out of 5 stars Nice for ceilings
Bought the lift to do the sheetrock in my house and I'm working alone. It's pretty good for the ceilings. It's kind of wobbly but that helps when adjusting the location and angle. Also did a ceiling in an angle and sheets stayed up nicely.
It is a lot of work as you have to manouvre around the thing to tighten the sheets.
For the walls I had some more problems...

2.0 out of 5 stars Eazy Lifter pro good for one time use.
The price for this tool is "ok" for what you get, but be warned, it is a typical Chinese made product suitable for a one time home use. I used it to drywall a 2 car Garage. Problems I found included poor welding on the lift handle support making it difficult to lift 4x8 sheets of 5/8 fire code drywall and 4x12 1/2 inch sheets. Problems I found included poor welding on the lift handle support making it difficult to lift 4x8 sheets of 5/8 fire code drywall and 4x12 1/2 inch sheets. The lift cable came off the lift pulley at an inopportune time. The extension arms could use additional stop points. Welding the lift arm support better and heavier steel construction of the crank assy would help. I would prefer a stronger designed lift, but it did get the job done on the cheap.

For the walls I had some more problems as it does not work too well with special cut sheets and having the sheet vertically destroys the balance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works as good as any rental, January 24, 2012

The lift came in just a few pieces and was a piece of cake to assemble... It is as good of quality as any of the rentals I've used. Yes, you can use it to hang drywall on completely vertical walls. It's a little tricky... but not too bad... you just angle it as far as it will go and set the drywall on the arm hook doo-dabbers (whatever they're called)... and then get as close to the wall as you can and tip the top edge over so that it leans against the wall while you crank it up into place. It sure beats the alternative of lifting it myself while having the wife put a couple screws in...

This lift is worth every cent and it costs about the same as renting one locally for only a week. Used it to hang 4x12s on the ceiliings in the 1st two rooms of our whole house remodel (were down to the studs). At this cost, this is much cheaper than the damage to your back when working with drywall. Good quality lift, that works as described. If you're hanging drywall, but this lift. You'll be happy you did...

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use for 1 person, December 2, 2009
This review is from: Pentagon Tools Pro Series Heavy Duty Drywall Lift and Panel Hoist 11 Foot Professional Quality! (Misc.)
I bought this for my construction company on the small jobs when we don't have the rockers come in and when there is typically 1 guy by himself. It works great and it breaks down into several pieces for easy transport and storage. Hanging Sheetrock on a 10' ceiling and at angles requires this even with 2 guys and it works superbly. It is a back and time saver for the do it yourselfer!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good product recieved sooner than expected, July 25, 2009

I bought the lazy lifter drywall lift. I just used it today and it worked perfectly. I was surprised how well it was constructed for the price. It worked just as advertised and allowed me to hang 5/8" drywall on a 9' ceiling so easily it was surprising, no strain at all cranking it into position and the locking mechanism also worked flawlessly. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to put drywall up on a ceiling alone. Vendor also was good to deal with I even got my order several days sooner than expected. I will definitely do businsess with this company again.

I tried the "one click shipping" from Amazon. That was a mistake. It used my old address and never verified it. I found out it was going to my old address when I received an email from UPS Tracking. I immediately called Discount Tommy, and got through to a live person who understood and corrected the problem fast. Whew - Good Customer service!! I didn't want to have to explain and haul that thing from my former house.

The unit itself arrived on time and in good shape. It emitted a terrible metal on metal squeal at first. The pulleys and crank wheel bushing was lubed up and now it doesn't squeak at all (don't get any lube near the cam brake). As the boom extends upward, the cable tends to wind too close to the wheel, but for the money, this can't be beat.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Only Way to Hang Drywall, March 3, 2009

I bought this to do a remodeling project at my house. I am a professional contractor but, I had always hung drywall using the brute force method. Since I had no help on this project and I had vaulted ceilings, I really had no choice. With my 12' vaulted ceilings, I also bought the extension. Let me tell you this is one of the best tools that I own. I had 90 boards of 1/2"x4'x12' that I installed by MYSELF. Easy to load, easy to lift and easy to manuver into place. Not only were the lids easy but the top row on the walls were cake as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Should have bought it long ago!!!!, March 2, 2009
This review is from: Pentagon Tools Pro Series Heavy Duty Drywall Lift and Panel Hoist 11 Foot Professional Quality! (Misc.)
We searched for ahwile on many websites until we felt this lift from Discount Tommy was the one we wanted at the best price. We called friends who were in the business and they offered locations to go to find one. We did not want to spend all of our time in the car looking for one. We also bought the 15' extention with it, have not used the extention yet but we have used the lift many times. It saves you from having to have multiple people on the same task. I was able to place sheetrock by myself without complication in a reasonable time frame without breaking my back or making a jig to hold it up. It helps us go faster even when we do have two people on the same task. I should have bought this years ago. We feel it is well worth the price. If business picks up we will not hesitate to purchase another from Discount Tommy.

I purchased the Platinum drywall lifter for a home remodeling project. It was easy to use and a huge time and labor saving tool. It is solidly built and easy to transport. I also purchased the extension because I have ceilings over 12'. The extension was easy to change and worked perfectly. I highly reccomend this tool for anyone who has to hang drywall on a ceiling or a high wall. One person can quickly and efficiently tackle any high project.
