Pentathlon,
This review is from: Pentathlon [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Dolph Lundgren plays Eric Brogar, a part of the east german pentathlete squad competing in the 1988 Seoul olympics, he defects to the U.S.A buts gets a bullet in the leg for his troubles, and soon spirals downwards into a pit of despair and depravity, needless to say he conquers his inner demons and starts to compete again , although not without opposistion from the stasi(East German secret police).... To watch this film you need firstly to suspend belief, the plot in all truth is quite ludicrous, but strangely enjoyable, it is lighthearted for most of the time, and has some cracking comedy elements in it(intentional or not, i don't know!), This film is also produced by Dolph Lundgren, so he gets a meatier part than normal , and this shows in the overall ethos of the film, If you like Dolph you'll love this, if you don't you will still find it watchable.

Dissapointing!,

I am sorry to break this to you guys but this was pretty dissapointing. The best parts were the fencing which was tame, to say the least. Yet if you like a more dramatic film than one filled with action this may be your thing. The acting was reasonable and the plot hard to understand unless you understand the history, morals, society and conflicts of Eastern Germany! MR L should stick to the ACTION films!
