This book is a great buy for rock and jazz musicians trying to expand their palates. It presents concepts, theory, applications and graded exercises in an understandable way. The book does not stop at the basics; it explores pentatonics in interesting ways that add sophistication to your sound. It goes through several chords and lists pentatonic scales that can be used on top of them, ordering them from the most ordinary to the most "outside the changes". Then, it gives a chart of the most useful pentatonics to use over just about every chord you'll encounter when playing rock, jazz or blues. If you want to improve your solos, buy this and season to taste.
