4.0 out of 5 stars not a bad bag for kit lens, small zoom or primes
Well built w/ lots of little pockets everywhere and lots of padding in typical Lowepro style (since this is a clone of the Slingshot 100).
The thickness is *not* enough for a DSLR w/ BG as another poster mentioned, but the target usage is not for those users IMHO. It's for the first time DSLR buyer or someone who is minimizing weight for quick trip.

2.0 out of 5 stars O K bag, but not very protective
This bag is functional, but not especially well made or well padded. I am kinda surprised that Pentax put their name on it.

Well built w/ lots of little pockets everywhere and lots of padding in typical Lowepro style (since this is a clone of the Slingshot 100).

There's enough in the main compartment for a DSLR w/ kit lens or a small zoom (with my Sigma 17-70, I have to reverse the hood), and one or two primes. There's an area to the left of the DSLR that seems too slim to fit anything useful except for a few pancake lenses.
The top compartment is enough for another lens or a rocket blower or a flash and a quick snack. The outer compartment has lots of space for memory cards, white balance cards, notes, etc.
One nice thing about this bag is that it has a belt clip that can separate quickly so you can easily take it off. My Velocity 7x bag doesn't have this and taking it off inevitably knocks my glasses out of place when I have a winter coat on :-P
I'll take a few more pics and upload them in a bit since the amazon page doesn't have any useful pics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everyday bag, February 1, 2009

I have used this bag as an everyday carryall for my K20D with a couple of lenses, the extra battery, cards, etc. If I intend to do some serious shooting and take along everything, it is too small. I used it yesterday for a hike in the woods where I did not think I would change lenses, but brought a zoom along just in case.
It was comfortable on and did not get in the way.

this bag is a imitation of the Lowepro slingshot 100aw, but without all the bells and whistles, and for half the price.

Bought this for my Pentax K2000. It has two main compartments. The bottom compartment is customizable with velcro separators and the upper compartment is the perfect size for my flash. I use the side compartment for my mini tripod and extra memory cards. My Pentax K2000 goes into the bottom compartment with lens attached. Room for extra telephoto lens. Shoulder strap is comfortable. Bag is just the right size and stylish.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well Made DSLR Case - Recommended!, February 13, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pentax DSLR Crossover Bag (Electronics)
The "Pentax DSLR Crossover Bag" is a well made case that provides enough room for my Pentax K100D with the kit 18-55mm lens attached, an additional small zoom lens, and a flash to be stored in the main section.

The large secondary section is big enough for my extra filters, cables, batteries, and remotes, with room to spare. There are also several small pockets throughout the case that can be used to store memory cards and lens cleaning gear.

My one complaint is that it does not come with any instructions for how to configure the removable padded sections. As one of the other reviewers pointed out, this case is a knock-off of the Lowepro SlingShot 100 All-Weather Digital Camera Backpack (Black) and the Amazon product page has a picture of how the inserts are used (at least it worked for me).

The bag is well padded and should provide good protection for my equipment.

Recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good starting point, November 29, 2009

Good quality and pedding to hold my gears:

in the main body-

Xsi w/ 18-55mm
55-250mm
50mm std.
1-2 58mm filters.

in the upper pocket-

Flash 430EXII
Battery charger and back up
4 AA batteries
Some small stuff

in the side pocket -

lens caps
SD card holders
Post-it notes/pen

Very little space left after all these. It is a right size for starters when camera gear is not your main "show."

Could be better -

Add two little "ears" on both sides of the bag so that it can also function as a shoulder bag - when one has to carry a backpack already on the road.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just Right!, September 23, 2009

OK, you will see some reviews about getting the "wrong bag" from Amazon. This is NOT the bag you find on the Pentax site--in fact, I have NO IDEA where it comes from--but i ordered this in preference to the other bag! It has a nice Pentax logo on it, so it is either real Pentax or you should get one before the police catch up with the distributor. The other bag is probably a good choice for those who want to pack MORE gear--but i wanted less. This bag holds my K20D wearing either my 16-45DA or my 55-300DA ED, plus whichever of the two is not on the camera. The camera and lenses are nicely held and protected, and are easily accessed via a single zippered opening that conveniently appears at chest level when you swing the bag around. This will be my travel bag. Mt Pentax DSLR bag holds a lot more, but carrying it all around all day was a tussle in France. The cross-shoulder security and comfort of this bag are both pluses, while the minus is for NO help in configuring the partitions. I had to look at reviews of the Lowe 100 to get any idea of how to do this effectively. I think the two-tone exterior has a funky retro quality that reminds me of the Contaflex era...I like it a lot! Oh, and the top compartment can hold a flash or even a couple more lenses--but for me it will be used for a rain jacket or something else i might need on tour--or just go empty till I buy a sandwich or something. As i said, i was looking for LIGHTWEIGHT

5.0 out of 5 stars Just right for K20d, couple of lenses and accessories, July 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pentax DSLR Crossover Bag (Electronics)
If you're toting around a camera with a major set of lenses and tons of accessories, then this probably isn't the bag for you. No surprise, I mean, look at the product photo and the product dimensions...

For me, the Pentax Crossover Bag is just right. I really like the compact size, which is ample for a typical 70-300 lens on or off camera, an additional lens or two, and a reasonable assortment of accessories. I even manage to get my wallet, my cellphone, a small can of bug spray, and a Canon ZR850 video camera into the top compartment. The sling shoulder strap allows for quick access, and this bag carries well on rugged hills, swamps, and cycling both on and off road. The padding is adequate, and the bag is well made.

If I ever get my hands on a second DSLR, a Bigma or some other hulking lens, then I'll carry it in a second pack. Or I'll add a jacket.
