I gave one to my son and also purchased one for myself after seeing the quality and performance one gets for such a reasonable price. (I also have the AF540FGZ but wanted "tiny" for travel). Very powerful compact flash. It's lightweight, even with the batteries installed and tucks nicely into a small camera kit bag for travel. In typical Pentax fashion of excellence it even comes with a very nice protective pouch. Nice. The price is right and Amazon's availability, service, and fair price can't be beat. It makes one pretty happy.

WOW, surprised what a deal I got on this this flash. I got a pentax ist d and wanted to get a flash for taking family pictures. Works great with my dslr. I pair this with my 45mm wide angle lens and gives the picture the right coverage. The auto flash works perfect even when I set timer. Would recommend this to someone who wants a flash for wide angle picture taking.

This is a great supplement to the built-in flash of my K100D. I also own the larger Pentax flash, but I prefer this one when I travel, due to it's smaller size.

I was astonished by the power and amount of light this small unit can produce in spite of its size and wieght which is a bonus.
i would have rated it higher if it has wireless off camera capablilty.

We purchased the Pentax AF-200FG Electronic Flash to go with our newly purchased Pentax K2000 camera. We found the camera's flash did okay most of the time in our shooting, but we needed more in low-light settings. We popped the AF-200FG on and holy smokers! We found it did a superb job in the settings we were shooting in. We even went to a lower-lighted setting and the flash did great. Going even further - just for kicks - we went to a room with no lights on and no windows. Even then, we got adequate pictures of items in the room.

We don't take professional quality pictures and aren't knit-picky about the results, but the more than 400 pictures taken at Christmas time that were shared with family, via our website, were a hit. Of those 400 pictures, about 75 were taken with this flash unit.

The only gripe we had was the connection to the hot-shoe. It just didn't feel secure.

We'd recommend this product to anyone wanting more than the camera flash and not as much as a professional quality flash (and price).

I coupled this flash with the Pentax K-X and found it balances nicely on the camera. I didn't need (or understand) the more complicated flashes so this one was a better fit for me "It just works" simple manual or auto switch. Good flash output, diffussion screen and case all work well. the only complaint, the battery cover is less than secure. better design could have been implimented on this. Dissapointed on this issue, a rubber band keeps it secure.

This flash worked as expected on my K10D. The price was good and I got what I paid for. The reviews done here were quite accurate, no use going over old ground. Recommended purchase if you don't want to spend the big $$ for the big featured flashes.

THIS FLASH SUPLEMENTS THE FLASH ON TOP OF PENTAX MOUNT DIGITAL CAMERAS TO 6.3 MEGA-PIXELS. IT SEEMS WELL MADE AND COMES WITH A HANDY CASE. FOR MORE FLEXIBILITY ONE MIGHT SELECT THE NEXT SIZE UP OFFERED BY PENTAX, I BELIEBE THE MODEL 360. HOWEVER, THIS FLASH IS SMALL, LIGHT AND PORTABLE.
