I am an officer at a rifle range and I see alot of equipment. I bought this for my father to put on a 22 rifle for squirrel hunting. It is great! I have NIKON and Weaver that cost much more and for the money it gathers light well. The binocs are great too! Not as good as my Monarchs from NIKON but better than the action binocs from Nikon. I would recommend this product.

The scope:

I received my combo pack today and unpacked it. I immediately went to the scope, which was my primary reason for getting it. Overall, the scope was impressive (for the price). Finish and build quality seem to be inline with my comparable Bushnell Banner. I threw some rings on it and mounted it to my 22, although it may not stay there. I took it outside and gave it the hillbilly test...sittin' on the front porch with a gun in my lap...and peeked through it between cars passing by. I was very surprised at how clear the view was. I zoomed in and out and everything was clear, even at the 12x setting. The precision reticle, as far as I'm concerned, is the best part of the scope. The crosshairs are super thin and should make for excellent target shooting and daylight plinking. I will seldom use the BDC, but it's there if I need it. I put it aside and waited for the sun to start going down so that I could see its low-light capabilities. Again, I was very satisfied and felt it was comparable to my Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn scope...which I have been highly pleased with. Things got a little too dark above 9x with the low-light, but that was to be expected. The only down side...which was a plus in the daytime...is that the reticle is so thin, that it is very difficult to see if you have a lot of brush or dark background.

Overall, I give the scope a solid 5 stars for being a great value. I would recommend it for target shooting and daytime hunting and overall fun. Hopefully, I won't have to update this review after my first range test. Keep in mind that this is the Gameseeker and not the Gameseeker II. The II has better specs and is a more expensive scope. If you don't need the binoculars, it might be worth considering upgrading to the II.

At this price I don't see how you can go wrong. The scope is now mounted on a Thompson TC in 25-06. After initial sighting at 25 yards I quit when the sixth round hit the bulls eye. Moving to a 100 yards I again stopped when shot number six hit the bulls eye. Clarity and repeatability is fantastic considering that the cost of this scope worked out to $41.50!

The binoculars are also very good. Crips and clear view while hunting. I am sure that more expensive units will see into the darkest corners of the forest, but again for $41.50 you just can't go wrong.

Previous purchase of 4X12 Gameseeker scope turned out great, so went for this package of binoculars and scope for a second rifle. The binoculars were better than expected. A little on the heavy side, but very clear and easily adjusted for wife with glasses and me without. A very fair price for a great pair of products. I have yet to be disapointed with Pentax. I now have purchased 4 of these scopes. Used on 300 H&H, 30-06, 270 and 222 Remington. all perform great!!!

Pentax has always been very dependable for me and I bought this item to be given as a present. Both the recipient and I are were very pleased with the clarity of the scope and binoculars. Additionally, the price was very reasonable.
