This review is from: Pentax Optio Floating Wrist Strap for Cameras (Electronics)
I bought this to use with my Sanyo Xacti VPC-E2 Digital Camcorder and 8 MP Digital Camera (Blue). The strap is sufficiently buoyant that even with the camera attached it still floats at the surface. If I wanted to play with my daughter I could take the thing off my wrist and set it off to the side. When I wanted to take some pictures a few minutes later it was still there, floating patiently, waiting for me. (Wish I could say the same for my daughter but she's 11 months old and sinks like a rock.)
The strap also has a quick disconnect feature. It allows you to easily disconnect the camera and supplied short cord from the wrist strap. However, it is very diffucult to reconnect it without help. (It's easy to uncouple but difficult to reconnect with one hand.) UPDATE: It's a year later and I just got back from a beach/pool vacation. The wrist strap and Sanyo camera are still working fine. With continued use I've come to appreciate the bright yellow color of this wrist strap. It not only makes it easy to spot my camera floating in the pool but also in my suitcase or sitting someplace in the hotel room. Saddly, my daughter, now almost two, still sinks like a rock unless she's wearing her Swimways Soft Swimmies (Colors May Vary). All kidding aside, for < $10 this is a "must have" addition for any waterproof camera. BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews can take the place of first-hand experiences that are lacking in online shopping. I've always appreciated the help I've received from other reviewers and work hard to return the favor as best as I can. I hope you found this review helpful and if there was anything you thought was lacking or unclear leave a comment and I'll do what I can to fix it.

I bought this strap for my Pentax W60 so that I could feel a little bit better about taking the camera white water rafting regularly. The waterproof camera is amazing and being able to strap it on with a floating strap is even better! It was nice having my camera out to catch the wildlife along the river without having to take it out of case. It did indeed float with my camera attached when I tested it out on a relatively calm portion of river. I'm very glad I bought this strap.

I bought this for my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 and my trip to the Carribean.
I almost didn't get a floating strap, but I'm glad I did. In the ocean, there is so much going on, and I was glad that this had a wrist strap that could securely hold the camera on my wrist. When they dropped us in the deep water on our snorkeling tour, I was glad I didn't have to worry about my camera because waves were knocking me around and I was still adjusting my snorkel gear, etc. In the calm waters, I tested to make sure my Lumix camera would float, and it did with this strap. I think it's worth a few bucks to make sure your camera doesn't sink to the bottom of the ocean. 2115|R2XCSCZQB0W9VB;2115|RPVS84VDP4RZ4;2115|R2V2WLHRRY0C5K;
