I've been buying Pentax 35mm cameras since 1984. The quality of this brand is great. My cameras are more sophisticated than this one--but I think this is a great camera for kids and adults alike. The viewfinder is huge, and makes it easy to see what you are taking a picture of. I have to load the camera for my kids, but it was very easy for me to figure out what to do. I bought each of my 2 kids this camera when they turned 3 years old, and the cameras have survived the rigors of toddlerhood--being dropped, being banged, being used with very dirty hands--you get the drift. My six year old still uses hers. Her photos have always turned out beautifully, as long as she stands about 4 feet or more away from the subject. Both of my kids have taken outstanding pictures of the sky and the ceiling, as well as flowers, butterflies, their mom, and each other, in poses I could never have imagined. It's great to have them experience the wonders of photography, and to have their own pictures from their own point of view. I'm going to buy another camera for my 14 year old nephew, who wants to take nice pictures for himself, but isn't so easy on his belongings. I think this is the perfect camera for him. I highly recommend this camera.
