A most useful tool for birdwatching
I had been looking for a spotting scope for some time now. I found this Pentax PF-65ED II spotting scope within my budget and I have not been disappointed. I had been using Pentax binoculars for 5 years and found them to be exceptionally good and tough, resisting continued field use. The spotting scope is incredibly clear even at a 60X magnification. The 65 mm is adequate...

Misleading advertising, BEWARE!
The photo of this item shows an eye piece is included. But it is NOT. After receiving the scope, I then had to purchase an eye piece for another $250. Supplier was Willoughby's. I would not do business with them again as their advertising is totally misleading.

I had been looking for a spotting scope for some time now. I found this Pentax PF-65ED II spotting scope within my budget and I have not been disappointed. I had been using Pentax binoculars for 5 years and found them to be exceptionally good and tough, resisting continued field use. The spotting scope is incredibly clear even at a 60X magnification. The 65 mm is adequate for most lighting situations. Yes, of course, a larger diameter would have been better for low light conditions but it would have resulted in a bulkier -and heavier- equipment. If you are looking for an incredibly crisp spotting scope for birding and this is within your budget, go for it!
