Pentax PTX-L40 Soft Leather Case for Optio S, S4i, S5i & S5z Digital Cameras

I bought this case for my new Canon SD400 over the lame Canon cases...

1) It mounts horizontally on my belt.

2) There is room for an extra battery in the front pouch. With no battery life indication on the SD400 I want an extra battery with the camera always.

3) The Pentax logo is embossed (not a metal hunk to scratch things) and very subtle. It doesn't scream steal me!

4) The fit is perfect and the leather quality excellent.

This is the right size for the cannon. Worth the purchase.

I recently purchased a Pentax Optio S12 and decided that I needed something to protect my camera a little. I did a quick search, and this was one of the first cases that popped up. I received it within a couple days after ordering, and it is perfect. Just the right size to hold and protect my camera, and I love the little pocket on the front where I can store an extra memory card.

It would have been great if my camera fit into it.
I ordered this case based on the information provided in the product description. It said Product Dimensions: 6 x 3 x 2 inches. WRONG! My camers is not even 4 inches wide and it didnt fit in this case. It was simply a matter of needing the larger PTX-L50 case instead of L40. Unfortunately I had to send this case back. Fortunately, the vendor promptly gave me credit and I was able to locate a L50 that works great. The quality of this case is wonderful and has a small pocket on the front for an extra memory card.

I once heard it said that no matter how great a camera you have, if you don't have it with you, you don't get the picture. the beauty of this case is that it makes carrying the camera (I used it with the Pentax Optio S-the 3 meg pixel camera) and a spare memory card and spare battery (highly recommended) soooooooooooooo easy/natural. get this and you may find yourself using the camera much more.

only wish is that there was a mini-tripod that fit in.

I ordered this case based off the picture - when I got it, it was 3 times bigger and a completely different style. I think this is more of an error on Amazon's part, but be careful and make sure that the dimensions of what you order, match to what you think you are purchasing.

I ended up buying a $4 case at wal-mart.

I just purchased this case for my new S5z. As a previous review said, it does indeed fit very well, which is important. But I am surprised that Pentax, which puts so much emphasis on style with their Optio line of cameras, would sell such an ugly accessory to go with them. If I had to do it over (and I might since these little cases sell for $9-15) I would have gone with a LowePro.

Lost my original & Amazon had the best price! Found my old one after this one was delivered, now I have a spare.
