This review is from: Pentax ZX-7 and ZX-30 (Paperback)
As a new owner of a Pentax ZX-L, I ordered this book because that model camera differs but little from its ZX-7 predecessor; frankly, I expected the usual "How-To Guide" of a generic photographer's template, with a few camera-specific bits added verbatim from the manual. What a pleasant surprise! This book is an original, written by a ZX-7 owner who shares his extensive experience with newbies in a pleasant conversational non-technical - yet highly informative - manner. The illustrations are minor master pieces of photographic art that, even in black & white, convey the joy the owner feels for photography. Not only that, the pictures each make a unique point that clearly shows. The chapters on flash photography and on Pentax lenses alone are worth the price of admission. When combined with Lee Frost's [Teach Yourself] "Photography", you'll need little more to rise rapidly to the ranks of advanced amateurs. Highly recommended, even though the ZX-7 has been superceded by the Pentax ZX-L.
