It says RIGHT ON THE PACKAGE that this chalk pen should only be used on non-porous surfaces. All the people giving it poor reviews because it "ruined my chalkboard" or "stained the [obviously completely porous] piece of wood I tried to use it on" obviously can't read directions. If you use it for its intended purpose, it works great. Takes a little while to get the ink flowing, but other than that, no complaints.

I ordered this along with chalkboard contact paper for pantry jar labeling and so far so good. I've read it needs to be erased with a Mr Clean eraser, so I can't speak to that part yet. I will say that the tip was a little thicker than I imagined. It did still work for my purposes.

This is a very cool product and I used it on wood that I had painted with chalkboard paint. Comes off very easily! Highly recommended!

Dried out!
Received this and was really excited to use it for my vintage chalk board....Well the pen was dried out and wouldn't work. I would not recommend buying this.
