BY FAR THE BEST PENCIL ON THE PLANET!,

Whether you are a math student, accountant or puzzle solver, this pencil is the best! This pencil's design was well thought out. The eraser isn't one of these itty bitty things that lasts a day but it's realistic...it's HUGE! The lead doesn't break every two seconds and the pencil is built to last. It's made out of a good, solid plastic...not something that breaks quickly like many mechanical pencils. This is a pencil I've been using for years and hope to use for many more years to come.

Probably the best all-around pencil,
By
This review is from: Pentel(R) Twist-Erase(R) III Automatic Pencil, 0.5 mm, Black (Office Product)
Having been a mechanical pencil devotee since elementary school, I feel confident in saying that this is probably the superior pencil for all-around use. Its eraser is generous, eraser refills are not expensive, the mechanism is durable, and the overall design is solid. If I had to gripe, I would say three things: (1) the rotating barrel does come off a little easily; (2) the metal pocket clip is solidly attached, but only until the first time it snaps off. After that, it is permanently loosened, and will probably snap off again; (3) the metal tip corrodes a bit on the outside after two or three years of frenetic, academic-style use.For $3-$6, you can't go wrong with this pencil, though, and it will probably become your favorite. It is, in my opinion, better than the competing Titanium model from Paper-Mate. The Titanium, while having a nice retracting tip that won't stab you in the thigh when you sit down with the pencil in your pocket (as the Pentel can if you carry it that way), has the most god-awful uncomfortable grip that loosens and bites at your fingers. Pentel Twist-Erase, hands down. Buy it.

Greatest pencil ever!,

Everything about this pencil is just about perfect. The rubberized grip makes it very comfortable to hold. The eraser is excellent. And it is a stylish sleek black. One word of caution: all your friends will ask to borrow this pencil. Hold onto it; they won't give it back once they've laid hands on it.

My daughter introduced me to the Twist-Erase pencil. I love to do Sudoku puzzles. I solve them by writing candidate numbers lightly in the cells. Then I erase them and write in the single number must be in the cell. The large capacity eraser, therefore, is much appreciated. Pentel has a pencil with a plastic clip that has been unsatisfactory for me; I've broken the plastic clips on two pencils. This model has a metal clip and is totally perfect.

I started to buy his pencil about three years ago. I have bought about 10 of them because I would keep on loosing them. But, the one I have now I bought a year ago. I would recommend this pencil to ANYONE.

I've been using this pencil for years. It has a very sturdy and balanced feel, and none have ever failed me. It does not waste much lead at the end. Also, I am addicted to the precision of the 0.5mm. In addition, the eraser is a very practical length so you don't need to replace it every month. The only reason I've ever had to buy new ones was because kids in high school would either steal them, or I'd lose them. The one I have now has been with me for 3 years, and the lead hasn't slipped once. I've tried many others pencils, but this is my all-time favorite that I've used for years.I highly recommend this buy. For just 6 bucks (how easily is that spent anyway?), you'll get a great pencil that will last you for years. Just don't lend them out -- people tend to like them a little too much! :)

These pencils have become my new favorite - everyone at work likes them so much, I have lost my spares to my office mates and need to order more. Best eraser and eraser mechanism of any of the mechanical pencils I have used, plus the pencil mechanism is one of the few that keeps 0.5 lead from easily breaking, and it seems to be pretty durable as well. Quite happy with this item!

These are the best pencils I've ever found, at least that aren't really fancy and over $20. They're far sturdier and smoother than most other cheap-ish mechanical pencils, they don't break the lead as much, and they have a generous eraser. I really like the large rubber grip, but it does have a hard time fitting into pen/pencil slots... fortunately, though, this isn't a problem for me. Mine broke down after a couple of years, but only after a lot of wear and tear, and for the price, I consider that a pretty good deal.
