David Lai's Pentothal Postcards presents an excellent introduction to the Abbott Laboratories "Dear Doctor" Pentothal-advertisement postcards mailed to anestheseologists and nurse-anesthetists during the 1950s and 1960s. It contains much useful background information, and the illustrations of some of the rarer cards are worthwhile to collectors who are trying to acquire these items. If you are interested in the Abbott Pentothal cards, this book is an essential reference on the subject and a must have for your personal library. However, some of the information in this book has been supplanted by new findings and more detailed accounts of specifics.
