From the Back Cover

You don't have to be controlled by difficult people!

Strange as it may seem, other people are not nearly as committed to our happiness as we are. In fact, sometimes it seems like they're on a mission to make us miserable! There's always that one person. The one who hijacks our emotions. The one who seems to thrive on drama. If we could just "fix" that person, everything would be better. But we can't fix other people. We can only make choices about ourselves.

In this cut-to-the-chase book, communication expert Mike Bechtle shows you how to stop being a victim of other people's craziness. With commonsense wisdom and proactive advice that you can put into practice immediately, Bechtle gives you a proven strategy to handle crazy people--and stay sane while doing it.

There will always be difficult people. But this fresh perspective on dealing with them can change your life--starting today!

Dr. Bechtle speaks to us where we all live: somewhere between someone who HAS driven us crazy, someone who IS driving us crazy, or someone who WILL drive us crazy. This book helped me understand their role and my role, what I can do, and what I can't. It is easy to read because it is at once personal, engaging, and applicable yet deep in processes, steps, and reality based solutions. A must read! His best of several great books.

I was intrigued by the title of this book alone. I'm typically a people pleaser and find that those people who are a bit type A really stress me out. I take it personally if people get mad at me, whether they've had a bad day or not. I try to avoid difficult people when given the opportunity but sometimes God puts me smack dab in the middle of them.

I liked how he talked about Mood Mastery and how to focus on the things that you can change and not necessarily the things that you can't change. Another piece of wisdom that I needed to hear was about temperament and how we need to understand the other person's temperament and accept it. It's not that we are saying that their behavior is right or acceptable, but we are saying that we understand their behavior is a part of them in some way.

The fact that some people like being negative is not a new insight, but it was very encouraging to know that I'm not the only one who encounters people who are so negative. That whole section offered encouragement and lifted my spirits a bit as I learned a little about how to react to their negativity.

This book is a great book for absolutely anyone who is around another human being that they find is difficult to love or work with, which I think would sum up to be everyone.

I received this book free from Revell Publishers in exchange for my honest opinion.

I was searching for something to read because I was having a horrible issue at work. I just did not know what to do. My co workers were blaming stuff on me and making me not want to come to work. The boss was too hard to talk to, and I did not want to have to play the "he said this" "he did this" games. I was searching for something that was based on the word of God and this book came up. I decided to buy it even though I thought the price might be a little bit high.

I am so glad that I did. I will be referring to this book for the rest of my life. I will probably read it over numerous times. For those of you that are not seeking a biblical based book, it will work for you also. There are only a few references to the bible in this book, however it is perfect for anyone.

Right away I started putting the information that I read into my daily life and things started to change. The main point of the book is that you can not change someone. But you can change your reaction to someone. It helps you to decide if it is really time to leave that person, job, etc. or if it is worth trying to save. It puts the responsibility on us, the reader. It teaches us how we can stay in control and quit giving others control. It helps us to decipher the truth from an emotional reaction. It helps us to see the other persons side.

I read this as I was waiting for my review at work. I am so glad that I did. My boss kept putting off my review and now I know that it was a good thing. I will approach our meeting in a completely different way and I am confident that I will make my point, and help him to understand, without playing the blame game. I will update this review after so that I can tell you that it really did make all the difference!

This book is one of the best books that I've read in a long time. Can be used in family relationships as well as in work or church relationships. A must read. Oh and the price(free) makes it even better!

Mike Bechtle has given us an easy to read and very practical book on the challenge of living in relationship with those who can so easily drive us crazy. With wisdom and a good dose of humor, Mike navigates the roadways of relationship. The distinction between expectations and expectancy was worth the price of the book. Buy two copies. One for you and one for a friend who has almost given up on the crazy person in their life.People Can't Drive You Crazy If You Don't Give Them the Keys

I loved this book, and I'm so glad it's in my kindle so I can go back to the things I need to read over again.
If you have a friend, or someone, (just people in general), who bug you to the point of flustration, and sometimes down right anger, then this book will help you stay calm and peaceful through those times when you want to pull your hair out.
I call itI a kind of a self help book, but it's funny and was really a helpful book to me.
And, it tells the truth in the title....People won't drive you nutz, unless you let it happen.
I would highly reccomend this book.

This book is easy to read, interesting, and most of the principles discussed there are one's I have found through trial and error for many years; and they work! Too bad this book wasn't written years ago and it would have saved me much stress during many situations.
