Great CD! I really liked it,

Dear Reader: First of all I would like to encourage you to listen to the Bob Edwards Show on your local National Public Radio Member Station (NPR) or on XM-NPR Satellite Radio that aired Tuesday December 15, 2009. Great interview. Because of what I heard on this show I bought the CD/MP3 download from Amazon.com. I was not disappointed; my husband even liked the music. I'm sure this CD will appeal to all ages. (I'm over 50). The Bob Edwards show talks to the members of the Rey Fresco band... the following is an excerpt from Bob Edwards's web site... "Rey Fresco is a new band made up of old high school friends from southern California. Bob talks to the members about their multicultural backgrounds, their catchy sound and their unusual instrumentation. The band's lead instrument is a 36-string harp played by an ethnomusicologist, while the drummer taught himself to play AND to make his own drums from surfboard fiberglass. Rey Fresco's debut CD is called The People and it features ska, reggae, pop, country, Cuban, Latin and soul influences". So dear reader of my "Average Customer Review".... I say "try it you'll like it". I wish the best to these young boys!

Amazing CD,

This review is from: People (Dig) (Audio CD)
We purchased this cd directly from the band several months ago after they opened for Colbie Caillat. Even though no one in the audience knew who they were, everyone loved their performance and would have liked them to play longer. They ingeniously combine the harp into their music, giving them a unique sound. We listen to this whole cd all the time and have yet to get tired of it. Perfect for the summer. One thing I really appreciate is how all of the songs on the cd are fun to listen to. We had the chance to talk a little to the band and they were really nice guys. It's hard to chose a favorite song among the list since, depending on my mood, each one is a favorite. "Fairlie", "Precious Time" and "All In Awe" would probably be my top of the list though. "Ninja Kush" is instrumental only and has a really cool vibe about it.

Finally--something unique,

Since I downloaded this album, it's all I've been listening to. A beautiful fusion of reggae, Latin, and California surf-inspired music. The Veracruz harp and the smooth, sexy, raspy vocals make for an engaging and exciting, yet somehow mellow experience. LOVE these guys, and I can't wait to see them live.
