5.0 out of 5 stars This a formula for coaching and management success!, July 8, 2011

This review is from: People Leave Managers...Not Organizations!: Action Based Leadership (Paperback)
I have had the pleasure of participating in management training classes quarterly for the last two years. Rick and Julie (the authors) have been our instructors. I can tell you that if you are interested in improving your management style and your value to your company you would be well served to embrace their ideas. They create a framework that allows you organize your feedback and to use the proper coaching style to address and improve your staff's behavior and their results both short and long term.

Rick and Julie are fantastic at what they do. Of course like any good idea, the action you take to implement it will determine success. Their experience makes their ideas easy to understand and has created a framework that allows me understand my weaknesses and improve them. I have openly communicated this approach with my staff and have encouraged participation in the process.

At the end of the day my team will tell you that they may not always agree with my assessment of their performance, but they understand my reasoning and it is clear that I have given their results a thorough and informed review. They also walk away knowing that their personal success is a priority to me. Clear open communication habits advicated by Mr. Tate and Dr. White have changed my process and the results have been recognized by my subordinates, my peers and my executive management team.

In my more than 30 years of work experience I can say that if my mentors had used these ideas I would have had more confidence and more career development success. Who knows how much further I might have gone and how much happier I would be doing something that I have always been so passionate about. My short comings are my own responsibility but an introduction to this train of thought would have, and has, changed my career.

Thank you again Rick and Julie. You should both know that what you do can, and does, make a difference in the lives of your students.
